Yeah dude, I think Fortus should just dominate NR

Agreed.
That is in no way a shot at Ron but it's not his style.

I guess I see where your coming from.
But a song like Out Ta Get Me is also very Slash... I just think that it's to diffucult of a song to play.

I'm with you... It's not that great.
But I think it's the whole attitude of the song.

i thought i recognize the screen name... btw why would someone elses opinions about a song make it "easier" to get into?  Do you really need some people on an internet board telling you whats good about a song or not?

what does this have to do with Axl playing Estranged?

I don't think Axl will ignore songs because he has respect for other members of the old band. He claims to BE Guns N Roses, so why would he not play a song because it's mainly by another member?

Like Jimbo said, the attitude in Izzy's voice is spot on.

While probably my fave guns song of all time, I don't think estranged would go over well in 2006 if it was played live.  Its a very long song, kinda slow - picturing it in the hammerstein setlists, it would just really kill the momentum of the shows I think.  Coma would be 1,000 times worse though.  I think with Estranged non die hards might know of it from the videos.  I've never heard a non die hard talk about coma.  Both songs are better played on your stereo then live in concert.  Personally, I would dig it to hear it live if axl's voice was 100% and he got really into it, but I don't think the masses would.

while we're on this topic, is there any song that has never been played live?? perhaps 'my world'?

they ever do Garden of Eden? i was gonna suggest me and my buddy's start up[ band do it, but thought it too hard, so i pulled right next door... instead.

Imagine Estranged without Slash's lead parts replaced with ie. Bumblefoot. It just doesn't work.

Eh, Estranged (as much as I love it) would just be a momentum killer with a live show - Much like Madagascar and There Was a Time are. I love all three songs, but they aren't live necessities - They just hurt the energy in a live setting.

And as much as I love the new guys, I'll admit I don't particularly want to hear them try Estranged - I adore Slash's work on it as much as Axl's, and I'm fine with it being kept firmly in the past as a live song.

It'll always be perfect on UYI II, just as I hope There Was a Time will be on CD.
