I think everyone realizes MTV sucks now especially compared to what it was before when they actually played videos.  But it is still one of the more powerful media outlets when it comes to giving exposure to musicians, especially younger viewers.  Who cares if MTV sucks?  Does that mean you wouldn't watch a GnR Unplugged or buy the album?  I doubt it

oh i see.

yeah I'd buy it for sure but you talked about them doing an MTV Unplugged, and people were just saying it prolly wouldn't happen. the old gnr unplugged was a bootleg BTW.

also there is tons of speculation that the show was made for some kinda official release in the main thread for the show peace

Said birthday girl Dawson of Rose: "They've never played all acoustic, this is history in the making, how much does this fucking man rock?!"

Umm??
CBGB's in the 80s
They did a whole set during the UYI tour, (the skin and bones tour)

If she is talking about the new band than she is just a twat, they've only played 15 shows? rofl? at this point everything is history in the making

I was going to point that out, but decided not to.  She doesn't even deserve what she got if she said that.

I'm sure she's a moron but I'll defend her and say she meant the new band...

well cbgb's was only like 5 or 6 songs and not many people know about the CBGB's show out side of the internet community....and the "set" in '93 was part of a concert and the rest of the concert was electric Tongue

Maybe she ment "New GNR"? Wink

I really doubt she knew the difference.

These people who find is fashionable to like rock n roll...
She meant Gn'R as a whole.

She probably only knew the names of Slash  and Axl back in the day.

Calling MTV Music Television in 2006 is a joke. I'm sure the founders of the channel must hate what it has become. Seems to me in the mid/late 90's it went to shit.

GNR would have a better chance on VH1 of doing something, like storytellers or something like that.

Not to mention an Unplugged album and concert aired on MTV would be a great way to introduce the new band to the general public

unfortunatly the VMA's beat it to it
