another option is parking in Brooklyn for free and sharing a cab

park in brooklyn and take the subway, I will be doing it minus the parking the car

yeah do that to get to the show than if u can't make it back for the last train at 1am just share a cab

And younggunner I know you been around and Ive seen how fierce you fought for the new band, and Ive been ther , ....dude , its gonna be as RICHARD, said to me"SO WORTH THE WAIT"....... peace

Sounds the best.? Can you suggest a good/safe place to park in Brooklyn close to the subway?? Thanks.

be sure to not park in places called east ny, brownsville, coney island,  bed stuy, flatbush, or bushwick..

i live in bensonhurst, the area is very safe, jaz mentioned others.. gravesend

if it was me i would park near atlantic and pacific ave because every train is there but the area is so so..

there are many ways i could tackle this for a minimum train ride...

I just thought about / remembered it myself today so thought I'd remind any of you who are coming to the shows in New York - if you smoke you should bring cigarettes with you - i hear a pack of smokes in nyc is like $7!

And remember there is a smoking ban in the city.....so you can't smoke inside ANY building, legally.

So be prepared to hop outside (not the show...they don't allow reentry, so try to curb the nicotine fit or smoke without getting caught) if you're at one of the pre or post show parties.

Not true, every NYC concert hall/club lets people go outside to a roped off area where security watches, usually its a long line in between bands. Trust me, I smoke.  Undecided

I'd check on that for the Hammerstein (unless you've been there, already).  I've seen at least 3 posters who say they've been there that say there's no place to smoke...and no reentry allowed.

I don't smoke, so I don't know.....

Not true - some do, but not all.  Hammerstein does not, or at least they didn't when I saw a show there a few weeks ago.

Technically, no, but do you think that would stop him?  Not that he'll be there anyway, so it's a moot point.   ok

When I saw VR at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York in September, I was so close to Slash that when a cigerette would fall out of his mouth, I was the one to grab it and put it out smoking

I'm flying out on Friday a.m., and doubt I'll be on the boards much again before that.? I just wanted to wish everyone well, and have a great time at the show(s) - hopefully I'll get to meet some of you on the 12th.? It's been a long time coming...enjoy!

That, and don't do anything to piss Axl off.  I'd prefer getting a full set.? ?Wink

Does anybody know how far Grand Central Station is from Hammerstein?  IS it a far walk or should I take a cab?  I will be getting in around 7:45 and don't want to miss the opening song.

It's about a 15-20 minute walk.  I too am going into Grand Central, I'm more worried about having enough time to make the last train.
