You don't really need to RSVP - there's no list or anything, & the times are just an estimate - I warned them that we will be late lol

Not exactly sure when I'll get to NYC that day, depending of flight arrival, drive into the city, etc.  Do I need to confirm attendance at the at the pre-party on the 12th, or can I just show up?  Thanks!

slightly off topic, but does anyone know who did the solo on SCOM during the 02 MSG show?  I"m guessing its buckethead, but just want to make sure...holy shit, honestly thats one of the best solos of SCOM i've ever heard.

"Ain't It Fun"

« Reply #611 on: May 06, 2006, 12:37:43 AM »

After much thought, I finally decided to get a ticket to the May 14th 2006 show.
I felt let down after the Boston show in 2002, but I figure Axl might do it right this time:

That means:
-Play more new songs
-More rants
-More spontaneity
-Stage Diving
-More wardrobe changes
-Maybe even a bandmember or two making a remark on the mike between songs (like Slash did in UYI Tour)

I just want the nu-GNR to be something akin to the old GNR, something dangerous, exciting and yet with a chip on their shoulder with something to prove, not some nostalgia act like they were in 2002 with no album in sight.
Yes, people on this board will criticize me, I don;t give a fuck. I love my GNR the same way you all do, I just want the new one to reflect a little more on the older one in the spirit. The new songs should do that, they were my favorite part of the last tour in 2002. Since I live a mile and a half from Hammerstein and I figure that a bunch of you guys are flying in for the show, well fuck - I should be spoiled enough to walk down to the show and see what happens and see if all the hype pays off.

I'm most happy to hear Axl spoke to Sebastian Bach. He's getting his senses back after 13 years away from the spotlight. Hopefully this extends itself to the stage and the new songs.

I was going to be going to the 4 shows by bus and be walking from the port authority on 42nd to 34th. It's not that far of a walk. I walked it befor in the day from 9th and 8th. I'm pretty sure 8th is better to take at night because more people are on it. I know in the day time I'm taking 9th to stop by MANGANARO'S HEROBOY to get some amazing chicken parmigiana to eat.  drool

For those who have checked out the Trunk interview threads, I think the whole part where Axl says Europe is easier/more comfortable to play compared to US shows is pretty important to keep in mind.  He basically says that fans in Europe are more accepting of the new band, and aren't so focused on "old" GnR.

So anyone who's considering yelling for Slash at these new shows, I'd say that's a bad idea.

i agree, this is guns n roses we're seeing in 2006.  And based on last nights appearance and his demeanor and everything, and from everything you know about slash and duff.  AFter last night, Im glad its Axl who owns GNR, i hope last night ended any reason to believe Slash and Duff should have it.  I  mean he didnt get much into the bullshit, but he kept it out of the public, unlike slash and duff who have bashed axl through out the years

yep. I just can't believe how cool Axl comes off. With everything else you hear from his "former friends" he seems like a douchebag. But I just can't see him acting any other way then cool as hell from the way he was talking last night.

its amazing, how you opinion of axl can change after hearing last night.  how many times on a gnr related article or on tv, that it was always the volatile lead singer of gnr, axl just kept his mouth shut.  now im sure hes not perfect but he kept his mouth shut, while everyone else tried to bash him and make money off him like the ex members, so from now on to me axl is gnr, and no one else.  i respect the other members for what they contributed but that was in their time, which is obviously up
