FUCKING AMAZING

GNR is BACK with a vengeance!!!  They really looked like a band.  I think Axl looked and souded BETTER then 02.

They played Better, IRS and TWAT in addition to CD, Blues and Madgascar.

All the new songs sounded amazing.

Night Train was the best song though.  Simply amazing.

Robin was killer = really played the shit out of a lot of the songs.

Great show.

see you fuck heads monday night! hahah

Wow - what an unbelievable night.  2 hours and 15 minutes worth of pure adrenaline rush.  Just off the top of my head, here were the highlights for me:

1.  Playing IRS, TWAT, Better Chinese D and Madascar.  Wow.  They all sounded great.  TWAT sounded much heavier live than in the demos.

2.  He still hits all of the great notes, especially in Patience, YCBM etc.

3.  Bach and Axl doing My Michelle was unbelievable.  They probably never rehearsed that, and it was perfect.  The crowd was SO into it!

OK, that's it.  But I'll be on here for awhile.  If anyone has any questions - ask away!  I'm still trying to digest it all!

(Sorry if there were other reviews somewhere else, and I started a new topic - but I figured it'd be easier for people to see it this way!)

Glad you had a great time! The boards were nuts tonight.
How was the pre-party, and how tight was security?

OK, honestly, Bumblefoot was just "ok." ?He had a solo with not much substance, and the crowd seemed a little bored. ?I'm not an expert on guitar playing or anything, but I suppose he did his job.

Axl looked like he was in phenomenal shape. ?He was wearing worn-jeans and a black leather jacket without a shirt. ?Also wearing some bad-ass black shades that he took off after the second song, but put back on for KOHD. ?His hair still has cornrows, but he had it back in a ponytail

It was the slower, mellower version of Knockin'. ?But heavier than '02.

Setlist was good - pretty similar to '02, except no Think About You, or Rocketqueen. ?Replaced with the new songs. ?

Before TWAT, Axl said "Alright, we're gonna take a shot at this." ?heh heh

Also, Tommy went over to Axl and said "I'm having a fuckin' great time," and they gave each other a hug. ?Good moment!

No real rants from Axl. ?Funniest thing he said after IRS was "I noticed some of you singin' along to the new songs. ?You fuckers know how to download."

 rofl

I agree with Hanna Hat.  I was really impressed with Robin.  I had no idea he looked like a mountain man, or an Allman Brother now!  haha

the lighting and pyro were really great, especially up close.  you really felt the pop.  i loved the lighting to CD and IRS, tons of smoke and what not.  Just a kick ass show.
