I'm staying at the Grand Hyatt right next to grand central station. What stop would I get off on for Hammerstein? I'll prolly walk to get there, but going back I'm not sure what the best/safest option is. Would you reccomend taking the subway at 1 AM (or whenevr the show gets out) back to Grand Central or, walking the mile and a half, or taking a taxi (And how much would this cost most likely)?

 Any help would be appreciated.

I suggest walking it its a nice 15-20 minute walk even at 1:00 am that area is always very nice and safe, if you are in a rush though and have to make the last train, take a cab you'll get there within 5 minutes and it should cost $4 - 5:00. The subway is always safe but at 1:00 am it might take you longer than 1/2 hour. ok

Actually, I would recommend coming to the after party!   hihi  But as far as the subways, take the S (gray shuttle) train from Grand Central to Times Square, & then transfer to the A/C/E (blue) or 1/2/3 (red) line to 34th St.  With the transfer time, probably a 15 minute trip.  It's safe to take the subway at 1am, just be aware.  Taking a cab from Hammerstein to Grand Central - maybe $10 tops?

Thanks for the responses everyone, very helpful. I'll probably walk from Grand central/Gran Hyatt to hammerstein to get to the show on Sunday, and then take a cab ride back after the show since it'd only be 5-10 bucks. Just might stop by the after party too if I can convince my friend to.

How much would a cab ride from Laguardia to the Hammerstien be for 2 people?  Anyone know?

I've heard anywhere from 18-40..so I assume different people had different ranges because of the times/day of the week they took the trip. I'm flying in Sunday morning to LaGuardia, so I would think traffic would be fairly light...so I'm hoping it will only cost be arund 20 and take around half an hour. I'll be heading back around 5 PM Friday to make my 7:30 PM flight. I've heard during rush hour it can take upwards of an hour or more so I want to give myself plenty of time JIC. This one might cost be 40  would think.

take the 7 trasin to 42nd st, or the shuttle, and transfer to the a, c or e train to penn, that will drop you off right at 34th and 8th ave
