What's the Difference between a Fan and a Groupie???

  In your opinion what is the difference between a Fan and a Groupie? Are hard core fans more like groupies? Personally I find groupies Sad. They pretty much Nauseate me? Just wanted to hear what some other people think. Being a Fan is one thing.... but what is considered going to far?

Nah, seriously, I couldn't care less if you're a groupie or not. You say groupies are pathetic, well then so are the bands that fuck 'em. And I don't think we should talk too loudly about that at a GN'R message board.

 Knowing that there are people out there who just have to attend every freaking show. To me there is just something sad about that. It's almost an unhealthy obsession in my eyes.

 ? I also know that it goes a lot farther than that as well. There are the people who plaster their room with every piece of merchandise a Band has ever released. There are some who will listen to a band 24/7 and seem to obsess on them every waking minute of the day. I would say that could also be considered groupie behavior too. ?

To me a groupie is a woman who just wants to fuck someone in a band JUST because they're in a band, and for no other reason other than that. She couldn't really give a shit about the music, she just wants to fuck a bandmember, and to her, she doesn't give a shit which one it is. So... a groupie is like a female playa... only she probably ain't doin' it for the sex either, she's doing it so she can say to people "I slept with *insert band member's name(s) here* and *here* and *here*".

A fan is someone who cares about the music, listens to the music, goes to the gigs, buys the CDs/cassettes/videos/DVDs/vinyls/t-shirts, discusses things about the band with other fans, he/she will learn the lyrics, cheer at gigs, crowdsurf, tell people who don't know about the band about the band, and rock out!! Of course sometimes if a fan is female she might lust after a bandmember, but if she met that particular bandmember she wouldn't be that bothered if she didn't sleep with him, she'd just be really really happy she got to meet him and would be satisfied with a few words and perhaps a small conversation!

rockers or men ( some) can be pretty sad too, because they end up groupies to porn stars or models or hiogh profile prostitutes and even marry them.

 A Roadie isn't to far off from being a groupie. I think they are just guys who have a hard on for a band. If they were women... they would be Groupies.?
