US rockers GUNS N' ROSES are set to break new ground by performing the world's first ticketless gig, at London's Hammersmith Apollo next month (JUN06).
Fans will be able to take advantage of new technology which allows them to purchase tickets via their mobile phones, and receive text message barcodes which are scanned on entry to the gig.
The NOVEMBER RAIN hitmakers will play at the Apollo on 7 June (06) to warm up for their headline performance at this year's Download Festival at Donington Park on the 11 June.
Californian rockers AVENGED SEVENFOLD will join AXL ROSE and his crew at the London gig.
The new ticket-selling technology goes live tomorrow morning (19MAY06) at 9am (GMT).

I posted this a few days ago in the news section but wasn't puton the front page for some reason. I see this as an important step forward though an will be keeping a close eye on it. I work in the field of messaging technology and know I wouldn't trust it yet to be reliable enough to put cash into an electronic concert ticket . Time will tell though.

Well - if the technology does fuck up it should give everyone something to do until the band turns up. Hopefully other than riot that is.

One thing I like to do is keep all of my ticket stubs and put them in a scrap book. It's a nice little soivenier from every show...Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't trust this cell phone thing...hopefully thats just  an option, and people can have some sort of a actual paper ticket, cause like I said, not everyone has a cell, and theres wat too many problems....lol, imagine if there happend to be a nasty thunderstorm or something that night, and cell service was fucked...I just see endless problems with this
