I'm not sure if the televised concerts were done by the gnr's camera crew. It may be the television crew of that company. However, everytime SCOM is played they ALWAYS have that shot of Slash from the back as the camera zooms out while he plays the opening riff.
Maybe it's a coincidence but you never know.

Yea if we could get a few names, then i'm sure we could google them or something. I don't know about america, but in the UK theres like a directory website were you can type in a person's name and get their address.

AXL doesnt even allow filmig at his shows and you think he is gonna give out these videos to some lowly cameraman..........lets get real............Unless you are personal friends of Del James or Axl Rose that is the ONLY way you will get these videos..............

what 'mikepatton' said makes alot of sense, there probably is some way but just imagine how hard people worked to get hold of the other bootlegs that we now have.

Yeah

i totally agree.

I just think that they must have went quite far to get those boots, and now that they are 'old', maybe the owners (crew / friends / other 'contacts') aren't so clingy?

or they could be hoarding dickheads, but there's always worth trying

Yeah

i mean are there footage of most of those shows that people own and hoarde?

I understand the fact that those shows were played, and filmed by the crew, but im just asking if there's an idea of how many people own..

good question! that is a question im not too sure on at all, it really is hard to say, if anyone does then it must be people with close links to gnr, not just some random hoarder..

Those credits didn't really help. It's the cameramen, or the director, or even better the editor! I believe that a few months ago a cameraman from rock in rio in 91 gave away some footage which was shared, so i mean it IS  possible to find new stuff.

Chinese Democracy out 2014!

I think that the Tokyo-show was released with the help (money?) of a Japanese company.. just look at the credits. After the band, tour-staff, sound people, security etc, comes something like "Guns n' Roses - Use Your Illusion World Tour In Tokyo -crew:", and there's only some Japanese names..

BC it was broadcast on jap tv, so obviously the peple involved in broadcasting it will get credited, it has nothing to do with a japanese comapny releasing it.

Who anyway still wanna se 2001 ,when we have 2006 which is 10 times better,2001-2002 imho sucked big time,i dont even like shows from that era, nah.
Stop thinking,it will eventualy hurt your little heads, and start enjoy what u DO have.

HOB will always have meaning because it was the first GN'R concert in over 7 years.  It was Axl's big return.  Well, maybe it wasn't that big, but you get my point.

Quote
sounds interesting, I'll look into that!  But again why would axl keep such stuff?  I'm very certain he doesnt stash his media in his house, imagine how he'd treat them!  Being the creator of it all!  and from what born to die said.. 01 and 02 were good years for gnr but yeah they were more unstable as a band but had an awesome 3rd guitarist;)

Well of course I don't know that Axl himself has got it.  My point is that there is no way they destroyed every single copy of the show.  They might destroy the DVDs they were gonna sell, but no way they'd destroy the master copy too.  That would preclude them from ever using the show in the future.  Why would they make such a decision?

And who else could have more access to it than Axl?  If one person in this world has it my money is on him.  Simple as that.

Yeah, but Axl said at the second Tokyo concert that they "are filming it and it's going to be released in Japan" or something.. why is everything so Japaaan?

Of course HOB will mean something, this was axl's first stage presence in nearly 8 years, I don't know how people can say  2006 is better than 01 and stuff like that like as if HOB never mattered!  The closest to axl who have these shows are probably the management and so on.

I'm starting to think that Del James has, or has access to all of this stuff. Remember back in 98/99 Axl said they had to get Del to sift through all of the stuff to see what they could use for the Live Era album.

Anywayz, i still think that our best bet is to find someone on the camera crew at the time. Even if they don't have anything, they could tell us whether we are wasting our time or not, you know?
