yeah brain is great... i don't see why anyone think there's a problem with him. he has a distinct style and can pull off all the gnr material. and i hate it when people talk about how great dream theatre is... they're nerd metal and are nothing like gnr. i'm sure they can play a mean instrument but i listen to that shit and i feel like i should break out a dungeons & dragons board and jack it to pictures of princess lea while i'm at it. no offense to you fans out there

why are you bringing up him? People bring up Josh Freese who Axl himself would say was not a member of the band and never contributed anything and say Brain had enormous shoes to fill. So I bring up Portnoy. |

The main problem with them, people will tell you, is that they are so technical that a grouve that musicians who gel together escapes them. Which is true to a certain extent. Let's not forget, though, that all music follows a formula, no matter how simple or complex. Also there are players who will tell you they suck because they themselves would never be able to be in a band and play that stuff. I enjoy different styles so I'll take both. |

So I bring up Portnoy. Freese did some rehearsals and played on OMG.... thats why they bring him up... Axl says alot of things that are not true.... Brain is one of the greatest drummers out there. Plain and simple. Whether you want him in GNR doesn't matter, because Axl Rose does we damned well pleases.

Adler even said that most of them are his, duff and slashes tunes... Sorum just played them the way he was told... the only drummer to contribute was Steven.. since then its been play it the way axl says... it maybe different now tho.. |
