I agree.. the YCBM intro wasn't quite right. BUT - remember when Axl or someone said they were updating the sound to get away from the "older, 80's sound" [i think they were talking about the new SCOM version]? I think it may have been a deliberate change in the song.. what did you guys think of his playing in these recent shows compared to the last tour?

I was there last night, and honestly it's hard to tell. A loud band like that in a small place like Hammerstein, it's difficult to really listen to any one player or singer to intensly and to pick apart what they're doing. I know that I never said to myself " This guy is NOT playing good tonight " , so I think a different venue would answer the question. As far as YCBM I gotta believe he's just putting his own touches on it. It's not drastically different, and I've got a friend who's a drummer and he used to bang that intro out all of the time, so I doubt Brain " can't handle " it -

It may be a case of as opposed to not playing it correctly, now he is just playing in the way he wants to and has changed it slightly.

Yeah I kinda thought that too. I wasn't really too sure. Since I can't play it myself, I wouldn't really know. I really feel that if Brain wanted to, he could play anything exactly like Matt. I personally like the touches he adds to Jungle & Brownstone WAY better then Steven or Matt!

I agree.. the YCBM intro wasn't quite right.? BUT - remember when Axl or someone said they were updating the sound to get away from the "older, 80's sound" [i think they were talking about the new SCOM version]? That was back in 1999 and he was talking about the re-recorded version of AFD.

oh ok thanks for the correction, its been so long i forgot about that. I'm guessing that some of the stuff he's doing now is just putting his own spin on it... Don't ever say that. ?Maybe Brain is playing the songs in his own way. ?Just cause it is not exactly like Matt's or dumbasses doesn't mean it's not good. ?I think he's playing great.

Do you fucking people at these shows sit there and say to your self "the drums suck in this song." Give me a break Brain plays the songs like they're supposed to be played, and he really looked like he was having fun, which is all that matters. If anyone says otherwise they are anal to the point where they shouldn't be GNR fans because they take it way too seriously.

As far as I am concerned there is only one man in this band who needs to prove himself...... Bumblefoot, and he has only had a few weeks... every other musician is tight, this is a BAND now.

He has improved on the GN'R songs alot since 2002. He used to fuck up a bit and alot of it didnt fit as well as it should have. But from what I have heared from the NY shows, he is going off.

I appreciate that Brain is implementing his own sound and style into the band without any sort of compromise or pressure or expectations having to fill anyone's position in the past. He is a great drummer. Truth is there are probably 1342980 or so proficient hard rock drummers who could fit in so well with Guns and roses and the primary style, but Brian definitely adds a bit off diversity in it..
Each to their own though
