I found two other sites like Stubhub that have tickets for $100 earlier today. ?If I can find the websites I'll let you know what they are.

A true fan - no, not that 'truefan' (where is he?)

*IF* you are looking for tickets and are going to pay over face value for them - the prices at least seem semi-reasonable on stubhub and over on Craigslist.  I'd exhaust all possible avenues w/ your fellow fans first, though.  Craigslist ticket link: http://newyork.craigslist.org/tix/ .

I bought tickets from stubhub for 118, which I don't think is that bad.

Once tomorrow rolls around, the tickets are sold out -the brokers know we have no other options.? I think the ticket prices will go through the roof.

Same here dude. If there's only 25% of tix left for the gen. public, forget it!  And after tomorrow those prices are gonna go way up! But be careful peeps 'cause a big risk is if the show gets shit-canned, you're fucked.  Happened to me w/ a white striopes show at central park summerstage. got tix on craigslist, guy never returned my calls... The only way to knock out ticket scalping is to have tickets picked up the night of the show at a will call window.

I am in the Prince fanclub and we get first row seats but u have to pick them up the night of the concert and show your ID.

makes it next to impossible to scalp.

I feel bad and think its pretty fucking lame that people would take advantage of Mysteron and buy tickets so they could make a profit by selling them.

Very Lame!

oh sorry thank for correcting me....

still that is 3x - 5x the face value....not really "fairness" IMO since the presale was for fans that were going to attend Tongue

« Reply #728 on: April 20, 2006, 04:13:30 PM »

so was this a success?
id just like to echo that it was pretty fucking cool the effort put in to give the fans a fair chance (over in europe the ticket fiasco really got out of hand this year with no glastonbury festival, and with certain bigger acts playing smaller venues - namely radiohead and their fans) and if this technique has been a success it could be a major step for a while in beating the touts.

sorry for asking again, but its quite hard to tell (and probably just as hard to answer) from the posts on here just how successful this ploy was.
so, was it a success? a major success or a relative one?

again, it was a wonderful idea and effort on the part of those trying to help the fans and well done again for the effort. and if does prove a success, it could provide a blueprint for a few more concerts in the recent future (gnr or otherwise).

Sorry, those tickets and many others were listed before the presale. Its called a freemarket system. Not a "fair" one.

Guys, have any of you used stub hub before?

My email is flooded with people who have made travel plans and am considering directing them there to pay $118.00 if they choose too.

I just want to make sure it is a legit site!!!

If you really need tickets, stubhub is where it's at. If you pay the $$$, you will get a ticket. If the seller bails out, the company will find you an equal or better ticket, and charge any additional $$$ to the seller, or give you a full refund in the rare case they cannot find a ticket.

Stubhub, Ebay, etc... ?I've never been screwed on Ebay; you just have to know what you're doing. ?Look at feedback, and don't buy from anybody with less than 100%/98% positive, with at least 40-50 transactions... ?Good luck!

All of my stubhub experiences have been good. ?They usually only charge a 10% fee on the transaction and their shipping is via FedEx (costs a little more) but you get a confirmation number. ?

Again, this presale was announced by radio stations that had the passwords up on their sites which opened it up to 1000's of people that may not have been legit; don't blame Mysteron or Jarmo or any of the others, once the radio stations made the announcement, all bets were off
