I think the guys look suits the image of the band now then buckethead would have the way  axl has changed his image.I mean you cant deny bucketheads ability as a guitar player.But when i say i am a fan of GNR to people the one thing they ask is"do they still have the guy with the bucket on his head"in almost a laughing way.i dont know could be completely wrong but from just seeing him in the last few days.
