mike what is your first-hand impression of bumblefoot?

I thought he was good but at first though he was izzy for some reason ,I though robin was bbft.. I was so into bbft (robin) that I was mostly watching him and axl.. I have to give it a better closer look/listen next time... I was way into axl too, robin stepped it up, he was in the front alot so it was easy to see em

remember floor (ga) people are taller then you waving hands jumping so you can't see everyone perfectly, My eyes followed finck and axl... Axl was awesome... The band as a whole sounded great,... bbft had to be good because the songs sounded right.. Better was the best new song to me..

Or the camera guys were just getting ready for the show by testing the cameras on the crowd.....

At least one thing makes me think they were collecting footage for a DVD.? A few times during the show, the camera men up at the stage panned the crowd and focused on some individuals (I think, I was not one of them lol)? Also, the photographer (Chin I think?? He was asian) took a few pics outside the Hammerstein before we could get in.? He almost fell and everyone said "Wwwhhoooooaaaa" hihi?

It looked to me like they were setting something up for a special about the first night at Hammerstein.

Oh, and there was a camera guy with an interviewer earlier in the day interviewing people in the line.? I think he was from 104.3 though....

no, and they were doing it a lot.  this lead me to also beleive that maybe it is for a dvd or some advertising or something. i doubt it though because they didnt have too many cameras/ not really good coverage of the area.

When the cameras were panning the crowd, did it show up on the big screen?

I didn't really get the humor there. Chinese Democracy isn't finished whereas the show is. So the show could be released on DVD.

The original point (I believe) was whether or not to hope for a DVD.

think about this: CD's leak about 2-3 weeks before they are released.? to counter that, alot of bands now include a bonus dvd with the official releasse in hopes to boost sales a little. Perhaps the Hammerstein show will be a bonus dvd to be released with the cd.

now i know some of you will say things like "axl doesn't need to put a bonus dvd with CD for it to sell". well, Axl is not exempt from leaks (obviously!), and besides what better way to reward the fans for the ever-so-long wait? include a live dvd with the cd.

just a thought, and imo, a logical idea.

It does make sense. Thats where the industry is headed and maybe Axl leaking the tracks was a way to get fans so into them , they would dig the tracks when he performed !  He performed 3 new songs and I could see a DVD/CD release of Chinese Democracy really be intriquing.

they could use it for a future musicvideo.. or anything else released on tv, dvd or anything.. but i guess we wont see it anytime soon.
i tink its normal to have someone filming shows... and, there are big screens in the back. Maybe they was just filming to get the show on the
bigscreens..
