Then why did he release an "official statement" saying he wasn't in GN'R? He could have just said nothing, if he were in the band and wanted to keep in hushed. Why are we so sure that it's him anyway?

I am almost certain that Stephen Colbert is the new GN'R guitarist.

Why? I dunno. I have no proof, I just made it up.

But why not spread this rumor to 15 message boards and have Comedy Central issue a statement?

Apparently, Bumblefoot canceled a bunch of tour dates that coincide with GN'R's tour dates.

yeah but bumblefoot played a gig at the same time that the apparent rehearsal happened last friday before trunk interview so he was ruled out
