Derek is a blues slide guitarist.  It's not him, I am certain of that.

I trust Axl's judgement when it came to putting toghether this new band, but I have to say although I'm totaly excited to see who this new player is, it will never be a better guitar player than Buckethead. So that's kind of a bummer.

Kim Thayil hasn't done much since Soundgarden broke up. And they did open for GNR in 1992. He's only 3 years older than Axl. Just a guess.

Ok so close freind of my family was recently signed to universal records (backj in september with his band "Shaker". He was down in Hollywood and trhough studio sessions met Axl rose. NOw the other day my steopdad said to me and i quote "Dan (thats the guys name) hooked up with Axl from GNR and it looks like he is going to replace that Buckethead." THAT IS IT, i am not a huge GNR fan myself so i did not inquire any more from him. Anyway his name is Dan (dunno his last name) and his old band was Shaker, there ya go.

Belive me or dont belive, but wen the time come's..then the truth will be seen. NYC.

no offense dude, but everytime I read/hear a story like this it reminds me of those 9-11 emails that went around saying:

I don't know if this is true or not, but my cousins, sisters, boyfriends roommate was in a cab a week before 9-11 and his cab driver told him to ge out of the city.  They contacted the FBI but thats the last we heard blah blah blah blah blah. 

I honestly don't think a dude named "Dan" would warrant Axl saying he wasn't going to name the new player.  Like I said, I would think the secrecy is b/c its someone relatively well known (if its not, then thats just silly - why the secrecy?)
