That's cool. It's not new material so I think we can be optimistic for the future sales of "Chinese Democracy". Rock Music is re-becoming a mainstream in the music industry day by day. It is time to release CHIN DEM, we are not in 1999 anymore, today in 2004, Rock n' Roll sell better and is really more popular.

For me,that's great. And people want good rnr band, and only gnr could  do that!

I think Greatest Hits have better selling because people knows that GH is the last record of Guns and Roses and that will be nothing in the future released under name Guns And Roses. It's end of Guns and Roses. Dou you like it or not,  You should accept it because there is whole truth.

Wake up fuckers

« Reply #365 on: March 25, 2004, 09:21:45 AM »

It's fucking nr.1 in Norway and all over the tv.

It's\ (they?) less popular than the illusions days though but this is a long waited flashback and a requested band in norway\ since the rock scene has been really lame lately IMO

but with brides and vr debuting and gnr reloading it looks like we're in for a treat in near time to follow

so...

WAKE UP FUCKERS! and you know the rest, don't you?

ok, I decided to play GH in my computer. I am using music match to play it. I don't know if it's music match misspelling the track listings, but here's how some of them are spelled:

Welcome to SE Jungle
SWEAT Child o' Mine
Don't CREI
Live and LETS Die

Somebody please, PLEASE tell me this is music match and NOT the cd.

We had a thread about it a few days ago.

Personally, I think the guy who added the songs to the online database where your program gets the song titles from, made a few typos.

I bought the greatest hits this week. It's the best 9 bucks i've spent on music in a long time. The record company is doing this to break axl's nuts, and i don't blame them. GNR was a cash cow. Can you imagine the lost revenue over the last 12 years? The record company is in business to make money, not lose it. The live album should have come out a year or two after the illusions tour. The lost sales on live era alone are unbelieveable. My point is the record company was not about to wait for axl to re-record the vocals and take his sweet ass time as he always does. Every person who has left the CD project has said that axl is reluctant to do the vocals, and that he is preocupied with re-recording the old material. I'm glad the record company stepped in and released the old music in it's pure form.

no. 3 is still very respectable. I wonder how the Greatest Hits will affect the future sales of appetite and the rest of the albums? I would imagine that the casual music buyer would opt for a greatest hits.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but we all know about all of the complaining that has gone on about the tracklisting for the "Greatest Hits." Well maybe these 14 songs actually are GN'Rs  greatest hits.  Sure they are not all of their best songs but this is not called the "Best of Guns N' Roses."  Just something to think about.

What happened?

« Reply #376 on: March 29, 2004, 04:14:17 PM »

I honestly think it comes out this year. I think that the Greatest Hits was always part of the plan. The only way to get away with it though was the lawsuit thing. It only benefits Axl, not to mention Slash and Duff. But for Axl to come out with a greatest hits that he authorized at this point he would be crucifed, even more than he alrady is. Imagine, ten years in the making and he chooses to release a greatest hits? Buuut, if he doesn't agree with it then they can release it and it looks like it was against his will. It serves it's purpose and gets evryone thinking about Guns n Roses right before Rio. Of course, what about the hard-core fans? Well, nothing but Chinese Democracy will satisfy us at this point. So Axl and co. bite the bullet and just wait a little longer, thinking, well, they waited this long, why not a little longer, so that we can release this "greatest hits" and get public interest going again. Yeah it's hastily thrown together but that goes along with the whole idea...a proper greatest hits after ten years on a new album? The only reason is to renew interest. I mean, it's been a damn long time and people still love the music, they just need a reminder.  This is only a theory, but this greatest hits will benefit all those involved, they just don't want to look like it was their idea.
