UK chart predictions for this album - MysticDaz says it will get to No.2, just behind George Michael.

I just saw the add on Irish TV station TV3. It was about 25 seconds long. It showed various clips of the band and sweet child o' mine Paradise city and you could be mine played in the background.

This was shown in the break of a Champions League match featuring Manchester United and Porto. It must be one of the highest ratings of the week during these matches as Man U are very popular here in Ireland.

So someone must be reaching in the pocket!

Interesting to spend that on a GH. Wonder if we'll see that in US?

This albums seems to be promoted more than Live Era was.

The commercial is on heavy rotation on MTV2 Europe.

That's cool. Even though I don't care about GH, I'd still like to see that ad.

I work at a newspaper and i wandered into the back room where they keep the weekend Sunday inserts for Best Buy, Walmart, Target, ect. and none of the flyers for this weekend have GH listed in the new music release sections. I saw a new Godsmack and some rap crap but no GNR. This seems strange to me considering the album is supposedly coming out on March 16th (i think that's when it is). I haven't seen the Best Buy insert yet so maybe it will be in there.

Yea, what's even more odd is that it's being advertised in Europe pretty heavy. There is a mention of this on another thread. TV ads and everything.

Well, I just read the greatest hits is suppose to hit stores on March 23 so I guess my investigative work was for not. I'll have to look again next week and report back. However, they Kmart flyer for that weekend has already arrived and there was nothing in that. Also, I couldn't find GH on amazon.com. So who knows.

If I'm not mistaken, the GH CD will be released March 15 & 16 in Europe, March 23 in the US, March 24 in Japan and April 11 in Australia.

The 7 days difference between the Euro and US release may explain why there's so much publicity in Europe for the CD and not so much (yet) in the US...Just my 2 cents.

What i think is that the record company isn't gonna spend too much at all on promotion for this thing....i bet in their eyes they've put enough money into this band...the album is just being put out to make some quick cash...and i know they're not expecting to make much out of it....the majority of people probably wont buy it, unless they're hardcores like us....(and from what i've read, most of us think its a joke, and aren't gonna get it anyway) so all in all, they're just tying to make a quick buck, no major promotion

I'm starting to suspect a non-US release could happen.  There has been almost zero news, promotion, or info made public here in America.

I'm sure this thing will sell a lot more copies in Europe, Asia, South America, etc. than it will here.  Also, Live Era was actually in the news when it came out....this thing ain't.  At this point, I doubt I see this cd in a store when it's scheduled to drop.

Would anyone really be surprised if this thing turned out to be solely intended to go hand in hand w/ a Euro tour?

Sorry in advance if this has already been discussed, but why with less than two weeks left before the release of the GH that there is still no link to click for the GH disk.  Every other album has a link to follow.  Maybe there is still a chance it could get scrapped? Huh

News from Greece!!!

Today all record stores received the following fax from Universal Music:

It basically says that GH will be released on Monday (15th) and that it will be promoted by MAD TV (the most known music tv channel in Greece which unfortunately transmits only in Central Greece).

The price for GH (according to my sources) for Greece will vary from 17-19 euros.

Another strange thing I've noticed is that all the sampler CDs I've come across on ebay are european. They all come from the UK. There's no american promotional CD yet. Looks like nothing has been sent to the US media  Huh

I think that this Grestest Hits coming like this may be a sign of the old Gn'R being offically put to rest and it may give Axl a sigh of relaxation.

I think that we will hear something from Guns N' Roses this Summer for sure... but hey who is to say what anymore?

THe greatest hits package failed me a little because I mean Estranged was left off... but as far as hits go... here are Gn'R's top hits by the book so please don't be a fool and argue... okay?

Live and Let Die
Don't Cry
Welcome to the Jungle
Sweet Child O' Mine
Paradise City
Patience
November Rain
You Could Be Mine

Now those are the 8 top 40 hits of Gn'R and they all are included at least that makes sense. The other 6 tracks on the GH album are just good songs off records like SPA and Sympathy for the Devil. Thank you... I'm not from Europe I can spell...

I doubt that, it's been advertised quite a lot over here in Europe.
