Actually Yesterdays was a big MTV hit back in the day it was releaased back to back with Garden of eden, but yesterdays spent many a weeks in the top requested vids on the show ala TRL (I fucking forgot the name of the show). rant
IT was the show that Adam Curry hosted.

What I dont understand about this greatest hits CD is that Enstranged is not on it.  That was better hit then a lot of the songs on there.

I think that you might be right, but what do you expect from a record company?

As I'm searching in yahoo search mode I'm coming across sites that say the new GH is remastered.  I'm hoping this is true, because I'll actually buy the CD.  Check this out...I guess this is confirming the CD is actually remastered along with a digi-pack (whats that mean?)

The album is now listed on www.ginza.se (which probably is the biggest Swedish online record store):

Artist/Grupp: Guns N'Roses
Titel/Produkt: Greatest hits 2004
Typ: CD
Kategori: H?rdrock
Artikelnr: 32201
Releasedatum: 2004-03-17
Pris: 149 kr

Information

Och ?n viktigare; de gjorde fantastiska l?tar: Welcome to the jungle, Paradise City, Sweet child o' mine... hits, hits, hits. Under slutet av 80-talet och b?rjan av 90-talet var de v?rldens st?rsta band. Nu n?r h?rdrocken ?r tillbaka p? allvar sitter denna Greatest Hits helt r?tt. 14 sp?r, 14 klassiker!

--

Free translation of the info part:

During the first part of the 80s it looked like the hardrock scene was dying.
The haircuts, the make up etc. of the groups that said to represent rock'n'roll made rock to lose its most important element; it wasn't dangerous anymore.
All of this changed when Guns N' Roses appeared. For the first time in a long time there was a unpredictable band; they drank, took drugs and had a bad attitude; they made fantastic songs: Welcome to the jungle, Paradise City, Sweet child o' mine... hits, hits, hits. During the end of the 80s and start of the 90s they were the biggest band in the world. Now that hardrock is coming back in a big way, this Greatest Hits is right. 14 tracks, 14 classics!

--

Something like that.

Just saw a short commercial for the Greatest Hits on MTV2 Europe.

It's got the intro to Sweet Child O' Mine playing while an animation of the GN'R logo is shown. The speaker says something about it being out on March 15th.

I saw that one on Kerrang last night, looked a bit crap for an advertising feature, no clips of any band members or anything

Funny thing is, that's exactly what they said about Live Era.  Let's face it, the record company felt the need after all this time to release ANY Guns product and so they decided to cash in on a Greatest Hits.  I will say this about it, though.  The picture they're using on the back is my all-time favourite band photo.  So that's cool.

Why do I have the feeling that we're gonna be short changed again by GNR and the record company's.
I think that this album is gonna be a huge dissapointment for the hard core fans.  It'll have a few pictures, a couple of comments about the band but that's about it.
The remastered tracks are probably not gonna be any different than the albums and as far as the booklet goes, I think that we're gonna get screwed with little information.  It's strictly a half-ass throw together for a quick cash grab from John Q. Public

Iam starting to think the same. I was hoping it would have an access code to on online site or some enhanced features or something ANYTHING new.. if this were done right it could have been huge..

The whole thing is not meant for you, me or anyone on this board. It's meant for the people who know Sweet Child or Jungle, but who know nothing else about the band behind them. The people on this board, or hardcore GNR fans in general, are a very small group among all the possible record buyers. It's been more than 10 years since GNR disappeared from the public eye. There's a huge audience that has only after that grown to listen to music. The GH is a good way to introduce the band a little more to the people who know November Rain but who would never go and buy the actual albums because of the few songs they know and like.

And it IS promoting the new band too because the name of the band is still the same. The album called Chinese Democracy from a band called Guns N' Roses means nothing or very little to a lot of people outside these message boards, or younger people of 14-20 who didn't follow music that much during the "GNR era". But the Greatest Hits record has a possibility to make the band more familiar to those people who now don't have a clue or just don't care. My thinking is that some or hopefully many of them will pick the GH because of WTTJ or November Rain or songs like that, then notice that actually there are other good tunes too than just those three or four they already knew, and when in the near future they see Chinese Democracy in the stores, they will be much more likely to buy that than they had been before the GH.

I am eager to buy the thing, even though I don't get anything new from it.

I got the sampler CD of the album today, and from what I heard it's definitely not remastered. I compared the songs to the originals on AFD and UYI, and it sounds exactly the same  Sad

I can't believe people still think that Universal would actually put a half an ounce of effort into this disc to enhance it in any way...They shat it out to either recoup or promote....You're lucky you got a digipack....
