A true fan - no, not that 'truefan' (where is he?)

Dude, you are the Sherlock Holmes of the crazy GNR world - do you have a Watson sidekick?  Smiley

On-topic:  Do you know (or have any reason to believe) that Axl is going to sue to prevent the GH release?

The closest thing I'd have to a Watson would be Pilferk - however, those roles are easily interchangable and I could very well play the Watson to his holmes.  The guy rocks, period.

As far as Axl planning to sue - only what I read on the mtv article.  I did a quick search on findlaw.com (a website that tracks suits and court cases) and only found a reference to the possibility of a suit going forward.  http://news.findlaw.com/entertainment/s/20040218/musicgunsdc.html

I don't know alot about the music biz, but when someone releases the greatest hits, isn't usually before a comeback?

I don't doubt that it's coming. As soon as the press release came out I thought "whelp, that's coming out."

And I don't really care if it's released or not. I'd like to hear that GnR endorse it, but that doesn't seem apparent. I don't think I'd buy it unless it had Brownstone on it either way.

---------------------------------------------

I have no idea whether GH signifies comebacks in the biz. STP released a GH and we all know what is going on with them... jack shit. On the other hand, RHCP is releasing a greatest hits then supposedly within 6 months a new album. There's a lot of possibilites.

CD will probably come out this year or not come out on Geffen.

As of right now, GH is off of Amazon.com.
Amazon NOT having it listed anymore could (and I stress could) be indicative of serious activity behind the scenes.  I was told a while ago that GH's release date should be used as the barometer for the possibility of 'official info' coming soon thereafter.  To specifically watch for the date to either get pushed back, or, just disappear altogether.

I checked Amazon at least twice a day for the past few weeks and never saw GH listed, although I know it was up on the Amazon UK site.  I haven't looked in the past few days, though...did it get listed and I missed it, or was it never posted at all?
Just wondering what I missed.
/Mike
Edit:  I checked the Amazon.com.uk site and searched..GH is still listed there.

That's what I think as well. And I really don't think the greatest hits is that big of a deal as some think.

They should at least try to put something on it that would get our attention. You'd think if they put a cover of the new band doing Jungle or SCOM (shit we've already heard half of a new version anyway) that it would get more people aware of the new line up who don't own any of the old records, plus it would give fans who already own those albums a reason to buy the shitty thing.

...Bottom line is that GH is sill forthcoming, yes?  Odd to not see that press release on either Geffen or Interscpe's site, however....
