Im not even gonna touch it.. wow. Back on topic.. People will always chant Slash cause they miss him. Some may try to piss off Axl and maybe most of them but sometimes you just want to see the guy who you looked up to since you were a little kid.

True. But no matter who the axe man is..Slash chants will pop up. Its a given.. Axl will arrive late and there will be slash chants. I'd bet money on it.

anyone who does that deserves to get their ass beat.  they deserve to get called out on stage by Axl and if Axl started yelling for someone to get their ass beat, I'd be the first one to sock the punk ass attention seeker.  Chanting 'Slash!' at a GNR show is fucked up considering he's been gone for more than 10 years and there are guitar players on stage who have worked hard in the band and don't deserve that shit.

When slash left gnr they weren't doing anything.. Now in 2006 they finally come back, not everyone knows who's in the band, people hear gnr is touring they actually stupidly think gnr will be there.. ?People thought slash was buckethead, so why not think he is still in the band.. Slash is on every gnr album people own, he is one of the most recognizable rock stars... Not eevryone follows this nbullshit or could even name one person in this new band... That shows how interested everyone is, so to think people might expect slash isn't far off at all.. ?Gnr is playing, they expect gnr..

indeed    most fans of rock n roll music are well aware of the Axl/Slash split that took place over a decade ago, and that Slash is in another band now.   Anyone yelling for Slash at a GNR concert is merely an asshole asking for a broken nose

Maybe so, but the people chanting Slash or Buckethead or whatever are not people coming to the show genuinely expecting to see them and then suddenly feeling that they were ripped off when they realize that GnR is now a different band. ?These are people that are coming to the show with a premeditated intention to antagonize Axl. ?There's no need for that and, really, why would anyone pay good money to do that?

Not really.
GN'R isn't front page news. The majority of people aren't aware of the leaks, the reunion rumors, they wouldn't be able to name any of the new members...
Slash is to many people the heart of GN'R so ofcourse there gonna chant for him. 90% of casual fans don't think GN'R is GN'R without Slash. I've never actually heard someone say something about the new Guns without throwing in something like "Guns N' Roses? You mean Axl and friends".

Expect "Slash" chants... Especially if Axl is late.

It's not like anyone isn't accepting the new band, it's just not eevryone going to all teh shows are 100% aware of the situation... I think the nyc people will know the best being it's a small venue with the pre sales and all, but large venues you'll get some people clueless..
