metallex, as much as I respect you... I gotta say fuck what you said.

They pushed that album a lot, and delayed it... from 2001 until it's release. Some Kind of Monster was the BIGGEST joke of a band documentary I've ever seen. So we don't have to move off that album. That was their comeback album and it blowed so bad.

The making of that album was just like a fucking therapy session. Hetfield is a idiot, a joke. I hope they break up. The only song off that album worth a damn at all was "Amber". Otherwise it was too raw, too mixed up and no solos.

SHIT.

My point isn't whether St Anger is a good album or not, I'm just sick of this thread being hijacked by people taking cheap shots at them because of that album.

You think the album sucked - WE FUCKING GET IT ALREADY - it's been said a dozen or more times by various people.

I'd rather talk about positive things than discsussing why you think St Anger sucked so bad, especially when in my opinion I don't think it's half as bad as people make it out to be.

As for your points you raised. James Hetfield went into rehab midway through recording to deal with some issues that he'd been putting off for years, that he finally decided he'd had enough of. And I think he's a much better person for it. So I'm sure James is sorry that the album didn't come out to suit you instead... Roll Eyes

Metallica has posted the following message on its web site:

"Another one of those well-kept METALLICA 'secrets' that you guys have been chatting about for weeks now is indeed confirmed. We are honored to be playing at the Live Earth concert in London at Wembley Stadium on July 7th along with the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, BEASTIE BOYS, FOO FIGHTERS, SNOW PATROL, MADONNA, GENESIS and many others. This won't be the full-on METALLI-show, but the performance will be available shortly after to download for a minimal fee on iTunes and on our live download site, www.livemetallica.com, home of live recordings from recent tours. All proceeds from the sale of downloads will benefit four climate charities that we have selected, and a number of web, TV, and radio outlets are broadcasting the shows so you can check it out wherever you are.

After purchasing the S&M album recently I have gotten more into the Load/ReLoad albums. There are actually some very good stuff on these albums, I just needed S&M to open my eyes for it.  Although they do sound better with the orchestra imo. But there are great songs on those albums that aren't featured on S&M like Fixxxer! Who else thinks that it's an amazing song and one of the best from the Load era?

Yeah, Fixxxer is awesome. That along with Outlaw Torn are my two favourite songs from the Load/Reload albums. Very epic songs. Those albums are pretty underrated though I reckon. People say they went commercial with those albums, but they were just paying tribute to their influences of 70's hard rock like Deep Purple and Black Sabbath.

man, It really bums me out that they dropped  all the Load/Reload era songs from the setlist.  Doing the oldschool setlist to appease the "fans" is a step backwards.  For one, a lot of people really like those albums (Load/Reload).  And if they kept playing them, more people would catch on.  Oh well.

Actually, the memory remains is in the setlist, which is probably not the best one to have kept... but i suppose they had enough of fuel, which is a great song....  I think they should play Until it Sleeps though.

Also, it's nice to see the Unforgiven... nice one there too, besides  ...And justice for all and Ride the Lightning   ok

So, what, you are a true Metallica fan who's never heard "Am I evil?"? ?Im not here to have the same old Metallica arguement. ?Its tired. ?I was just saying something that I, and a LOT, of Metallica fans, feel. ?Its funny how many people out there bash the new stuff, which isnt even that new anymore, yet when you see them live, EVERYONE knows the "new" songs, cheers for them, and sings along. ?
