And you seem to represent the average "bitter-for-20-years-can't-let-go-of-the-past" Metallica fan pretty well too. hihi

Heh, to be honest, the only way I could be percieved as bitter is that I do wish I'd get my money back from buying St. Anger a few years ago. I still remember Lars or someone from the band hyping it as "It's going to sound like Meshuggah!" ... Sorry guys, you failed. As for the rest of their career, IMO: first five albums were classic material, Load+Reload were alright, Garage Inc. was pure awesomeness, S/M I just wasn't interested in, and then there's St. Anger. So, to set the record straight, I've only been bitter (if you want to use that word) for three and a half years Tongue

Then stay the fuck out of here.

Wow, you really are sad. Why don't YOU stay the fuck out of here, since you're so damn touchy. As for me, I'm still interested in what old Metallica's up to these days.

I tried to check from Google and some Metallica sites but never found what I'm lookin' for: Guide(s) for Metallica bootlegs. Like the Gn'R DVD-bootleg guide or www.gnrontour.com or www.gnrotgm.com. Can anyone help me out with this?

Here is a site with Metallica demos: http://demos.metpage.org/

Not a bad site. Got some cool shit on there, but I'm keen to hear the Load/Reload demos which I cant get unless I can find the old singels N' boxsets.
Has anyone got the demo for Low Mans Lyric?

Was surprised  by the Ecstacy of Gold - actaully pretty good, nice to see Kirk allowed to play solos again. Also amusing to see that James still has a bizarre fixation with the 'yeah yeahs'. Wish he'd stop....

METALLICA has issued the following update via its official web site:

"Hey... back again with more from Nor Cal. So by now most of you have hopefully heard that we are planning on spending a few weeks this summer touring, visiting some places in Europe that we didn't 'escape' to last year. We are still sorting out the final details, schedules, etc. for our little break from recording the next album, but in the meantime, we figured that you have debated/theorized long enough over last week's 'W' clue... so here goes... yes, it is the Werchter Rock festival in Belgium... we'll be playing there on July 1st. No, we haven't really played there 19 times... only four. All the festival and ticketing information is [here]. Keep your eyes open for more shows... we'll post them as they get confirmed."

METALLICA will headline the 11th edition of the Rockwave Festival, set to take place July at 1-3 Terra Vibe in Malakasa, Greece. METALLICA will perform on July 3. Pre-sale for the concert will begin on February 21. METALLICA fan club members will be given priority when it comes to purchasing tickets. General admission tickets will cost 60 euros, Pitch A 80 euros and Distinguished Area 100 euros.

Commented METALLICA: "We haven't been there for eight years... and looking very much forward to coming back to Athens, Greece."

METALLICA will play a special open-air concert at Rotundenplatz in Vienna, Austria on July 5. There will be exclusive Wavebreaker tickets for members of the official METALLICA fan club, MetClub. The pre-sale will start on February 24 at 9:00 a.m.

Commented the band: "The schedule is coming together and we've got another stop on our little European jaunt for you . . . drumroll, please . . . Vienna, Austria on July 5th at Rotundenplatz. And here's the cool part ? this one is a METALLICA show, the first all-METALLICA show in Austria in over ten years! Okay, of course we will have a few cool opening bands, still to be determined, like a few other things on this tour, but your friends here are trying to bring you this information as it happens . . . day and night. Speaking of friends . . . if any of our metalli-friends in Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, or Liechtenstein want a dose of METALLICA this summer, you might want to check this show out because unfortunately it will be our only one in your neck of the woods. Also, the un-named tour is no longer without a name courtesy of MetClubber TR3NDKILLR . . . 'Sick of the Studio 07' . . . it's now, um, official."

Its awesome that Metallica are doing some shows this year but It really shits me that Bands only come to Aus when they're doing a full blown tour. Why not take a week to come over here N' Play a few shows? Metallex78 I know your with me on this one.

Yeah, I really wish theyd come to Oz other than to promote an album. I'm sure they could sell out a few dates regardless of whether they had a new album out or not.

Anyway, I've been doing some math based on Metallica's touring schedule to Australia over ther years.
They first toured here in 1989, then 1993 (4 years), then 1998 (5 years), then 2004 (6 years). So going by that, they should be back here in 7 years time 2011 Shocked
