I would have to agree they are the most overated band out there. The best years where the early years like Ride The Lightning, Kill EM ALL, Master of Puppets and And Justice for All. They are crap now.

Yeah, god knows if a band stopped putting out albums out that I liked 20 years ago, I'd have moved on too.

It's a sample of their newly recorded cover of Ecstacy of Gold, and perhaps a taste of what the new Metallica album will sound like, production-wise that is. The sample sounds cool to me, some nice Kirk Hammett soloing going on there

I know we go threw this every few months but it still gives me the shits.

TSI gets the worst wrap of any GN'R album but no cunt here seems to think they're shit now. So why because Metallica bring out SA they suddenly become the most poxy band alive?

To be fair, no one in GNR really cared about or put much effort into TSI - Plus it was a tossed off covers collection.

 St. Anger was a much hyped, much-ballyhooed "return to form" album of original material and Metallica was drinking their own kool aid during that period - It's all documented in SKOM.

The only people who hyped it as "a return to Metallica of old" were the same people who have been complaining since Master of Puppets for another Master Of Puppets every album after that.

Heh, to be honest, the only way I could be percieved as bitter is that I do wish I'd get my money back from buying St. Anger a few years ago. I still remember Lars or someone from the band hyping it as "It's going to sound like Meshuggah!" ... Sorry guys, you failed. As for the rest of their career, IMO: first five albums were classic material, Load+Reload were alright, Garage Inc. was pure awesomeness, S/M I just wasn't interested in, and then there's St. Anger. So, to set the record straight, I've only been bitter (if you want to use that word) for three and a half years
