I couldnt be bothered reading 61 pages, Does anyone think the new metallica record and CD will be out at the same time? I wonder which will sell better, BTW Megadeths will be out around then too, WHAT A FUKIN YEAR IN MUSIC!!!

Metallica's new album, according to Lars in a recent interview, is expected to be out mid-late 2007.

When is Megadeth's new album due out?

They've been in their studio, but they're still writing songs, not recording yet as far as I know.
I'd rather they take their time and put out something great than rush it.

Maybe when Metallica start working on albums that take 15 years to release, then I'd agree with you. Roll Eyes

metallica ranks right up there as the best show I have ever seen, they rocked in 1997 at msg... COC opened for them, people had no interest... They kicked ass with master of puppets, four horsemen for whom the bell tolls, fade to black.. I had the time of my life

James said this yesterday

James Hetfield said, "It coming along exactly as it should. We're not rushing too much. [We're] taking our time. We want this to be just really good. [Laughs] [We're] sifting through not only? Well, in the old days, we had a riff tape, a cassette each. You know, 'Here's my ideas.' When we were on tour [in support of 'St. Anger'], the [jam sessions in] rehearsal rooms were recorded, so we had about 15 CDs filled ? and that wasn't even all of them ? of filtered, good basis for songs. So we have a lot of material, which is better than the other way around. So we have a lot to go through and pick out the best. We're going to be [at it] a little while. Rick Rubin is the producer, who's done very amazing things with people, and especially bands that have ? think they've gotten as far as they can, he comes in and shows them again what made them what they are and why, and brings them to their roots in a different way. So we're pretty excited about his input."

They are gonna kick some serious ass again this time....

I hated when I saw them do Until it sleeps.. That video killed me.. Those albums had some good songs, but not the way I like the first 5...

kill em all ride the lightning, master of puppets and jutice for all and black..

Songs like four horsemen, for whom the bell tolls, master of puppets, fade to black are some of the best songs I've ever heard .. They did amazing music

oh absolutly... Four horsement, Master, Fade, are some of my favorite songs of all time.. My favorite still is Creeping Death...  If you can ever find the DVD of Pantera,Tallica, Ac/dc. live in Moscow the live version of Creeping Death is unreal they way they played that day..

Yeah, it was 3-CD's Live in Mexico, 2 Videos Live in San Diego and 1 Video Live In Seattle 1989. Awesome Live set, which helped make me the Metallica nut I am today! ok

He's 43 i believe.  beer

I really hope this album goes back to the Ride the Lightning/Master of Puppets, etc days.  That's my favorite Metallica music.

You guys have heard the new song they played on tour, right?  It sounds much better than the stuff from St. Anger.  They probably changed because of bad criticism.
