One is a kick ass tune. Metallica kicked ass back in the day and they still kick ass now. Rob from Ozzy and BLS on bass is one hell of a addition for these guys. And I can't wait to hear the new material.

James mentioned in a recent interview when they were playing in South Africa that Rob was bringing a lot of progressive elements to their new songs. Not sure what that means, but it sounds promising. James also mentioned solos are back and the new songs have catchy melodies too.

Sounds awesome, do you have a link to the interview or something?

I read a thing Lars said a while ago, he said that the new record is gonna be more like a old-school Metallica record, so.

Sounds great to say the least.

I don't have the article, but this is what was posted on the Metallica fan club message board:

A Finnish newspaper, Keskisuomalainen, interviewed James Hetfield when they were in South Africa recently. James said that they have about 12 new songs and that the new album is definitely not going to be St. Anger part 2. There are a lot of fast parts, catchy melodies and guitar solos in the new songs and Rob has brought some more progressive ideas to the new songs.
James also said they are going to start recording at fall and if they work fast the record could come out in spring or hopefully at least next year.

I hope they dont work to fast, I want the new album to be as big as the Black album.
You still keen on a trade man?

i really hope that the new album wont be st anger pt 2,i have not liked metallica for a while now but since megadeth & metallica seem to be in constant competition, hetfield realises that megadeth kicked their asses on the last album so they will come out with all guns blazing....... i expect something special.... its going to be a GREAT year in music!!!!  peace

We'll either get St Anger part 2 of Re-Re-ReLoaded

Metallica have their work cut out to make an album even worth downloading!

haha...I think it means he brings something other that traditional metal to the table...he plays without i pick and plays slap bass...both things aren't traditionally used for a metallica album...i really hope they use Rob to his full potential

Yeah i hope so too... Unlike what they did with Jason im sure this next album will have his input .... St anger didnt have any input from Rob so im betting the next album kicks serious ass.. esp since they got a new producer this time around... Thats my only bitch about them is the Master of Puppets album and St Anger the Production makes the albums hard to listen to...  But those songs live sound better than on the records....

Agreed yes....I wouldn't be suprised if they bring Mark Anthony on for some duets - it wouldn't suprise me a bit if Lars announced he was gay either yes....what can I say? I wish them luck and hope they don't embarass themselves futher with this "new album"

ps: money can't buy me love!! and Rick Rubin cant fix faggotry...or can he?

That shits me. When a band releases an album that isnt as good as their previous ones people say "they are shit now"
The same thing happened to Guns N' Roses when TSI came out.
I cant understand why people that hate something can spend so much time talking about it.
