Because unless it's people slagging nuGN'R, the moderators seem to allow other people to keep on saying sh*t about bands that some people still like. I find it a waste of time and energy. If you don't like a band, DON'T LISTEN TO THEM.

People bash Paris Hilton too. Why is it okay to slag her but not Metallica? And there's a reason why senseless bashing of new GNR isn't tolerated, it's because this is a Guns N' Roses site. Clear enough for me.

I never said opinions don't count at all, just stupid ones. There's nothing wrong with conflicting musical discussion, I'm all for it as long it's intellectual and has grounds. But a thread about "how much a band sucks" is exactly the type of thread this board shouldn't have. What are we a bunch of 5 yr olds?

Actually there is a version of Nothing Else Matters recorded with an orchestra (not the S&M version) that features James on an acoustic guitar and mostly backed by orchestral music. It sounds quite good too, if you're not close-minded to the idea

I don't think I've heard that one, when was it recorded?

I think it was recorded at the time of the Black album. Metallica sent Michael Kamen the tapes of the song for him to add strings to the version that ended up on the album, but there's also another version which we're talking about now.

I think it's referred to as the "elevator version" if you're gonna look for it.

This question was brought up by someone else, and I really don't think James will say anything, as it's never been his style to rag on other people on stage, and after going through rehab, I think he's even less inclined to do so.

Then again, Axl has always ranted what's on his mind, so maybe he'll say something...
