I think with Rick Ruben producing and Rb Trjios(sp?) on bass Metallica should return to kicking ass. They have playing a lot of older school material on the road.. I hope its for a return to Metallica sound we all love for the the new album. From what I have heard from articles and interviews are that solos are back thank god and its more of a older feel Metallica and thats what we fucking need.

I think Metallica fans are just happy that they are still out there putting new material out and touring so they can see one of their fave bands.

I didn't mind a lot of their songs from the Load albums at all. I didn't like their last album but if you don't like it then stop listening. These threads are a bit silly.

yes they had an album that the older fans did not like but i am seeing a lot of the youngsters with st.anger t-shirts. and i think this was the whole purpose of the album. exposing them to young audiences, making more fans in the upcoming generations.
don't forget that they made 4 awesome albums (i prefer their 80's stuff), and the 90's stuff wasn't that bad.
so i don't think they suck just because they experimented stuff on st.anger.

Metallica are in a no win situation.

if they did a black album 2 people would bitch that they havent evolved or grown.

If they do something new people will bitch and say they sold out.

the songs on St Anger actually are pretty kick ass in the studio but Bob Rock's production made the album suck.

The songs though arent that bad.

James also really didnt have his heart in it either.

Rubin will get the best Metallica album possible out of them and it will be right up there with the Black Album.

Who ever said anything about GNR?? Go to the GNR section, go to the fuckin Dead Horse and complain all you want, although a post like this would be retarded anywere...

Personally, I prefer the GNR 2002 live songs and 2006 demos to St. Angr, so from my point of view, GNR has given me more lately.


On topic now. Metallica suck really bad now only by their own standards. St. Anger is fuckin horrible compared to their 80 stuff, and even to their 90 stuff. They experiminted and fucked up big time...hopefully they'll be back soon.

Everyone creis about no guitar solos and it being sloppy, etc.  Compared to what they had done with Re/Load I thought that SA was closer to their work in the 80s.  It's pissed off, fast, and heavy.  No sappy ass ballads, no guest stars, so symphony, co covers.  While it is not their best album I think it is far from their worst.

Make that 3, I still listen to St Anger quite a lot since it was released, I can't say the same about Reload.
