This thread and this section are not about GNR - u've managed to write rubbish in just about every thread u've come across, keep it to Metallica and if u have nothing to say - then don't say anything

I have no interest in GNR at the mo  so thats why i'm in this section of the board, this section is Axl free

This thread has nothing to do with Megadeth either, but that didn't stop people from writing about them in this Metallica thread.

Well if u care to check back u'll find it began with a comparison of styles, and the way there music had evolved alongside each other, after all Megadeth went mainstream after Metallica had shown them the way, the debate centred on how Mustaine had been able to take a more 'thrash' appraoch combine it with hooks and melody and continue to make good music whn Metallica, having attempted the same thing have failed so miserably. And there u have it Smiley

This is still a Metallica thread. Comparisons are fine, but if you look at the last couple of pages, it's almost pure Megadeth discussion, and there's already a thread dedicated to Megadeth.

Anyway, I could care less about what people discuss here, but before you start having ago at Gunna_girl01 about keeping on topic, maybe you should take a look at others going off topic too.

Also the thread had turned from talking about St Anger and SKOM to where metallica made a turn for the worst. then as an obvious parallel megadeth got named. then the discussion was kinda about Megadeth's and Metallica's musical progression over the years and how much the MIGHTY MET had changed and How Megadeth stuck to what Metallica started out to acheive with Mustaine on Lead Guitar.

then all of a sudden we have a comparison of how metallica's music is different from GnR but Gunna_girl01 likes both. That's cool that she likes both but it really came out of nowhere and had nothing at all to do with what was being talked about.

I'm sorry I posted about Megadeth on here, once I realized that there was a Megadeth thread I started posting on it instead and if you are replying to a post then you should quote it so people don't get confused about what the fuck you are trying to say. ok

 peace peace people!

that was a bit of a crazy argument lol. Though izzy does tend to be very argumentive these days.

Anyways, lets start a new on topic discussion.

The song "i dissappear", obviously done for mi2 soundtrack. Did metallica come back with that, or stop after it? Cause i remember when st anger came out, radios said it was a comeback album.

Well MI2 came out in '96 so they were still in the Load - Reload era, then no studio material until 2003. so St. Anger was supposed to be the "comeback"

Careful....

These days? I've been the same or worse for 21 years - its just the quality of this board has plummeted and i'm roused to respond more often. If people write sensible stuff u'll find my agreeing with them line for line

My mistake - i thought u were an idiot writing rubbish in every thread u appeared on - oh wait, no i was was right

Back on Metallica - I disappear was a fantastic song, such a great riff - simple, to the point, brutal, and a slightly daft video, but fun no less

I was really expecting St Anger to be like that - and at the very least to include the song

An album in that style would have put Metallica back to the top of the pile - possibly my fav Metallica song

I quite like I Disappear, but to me it sounds very nu-metalish, and I prefer the style of St. Anger.

I remember reading an interview with Kirk at the time when I Disappear was released that that would be the direction of the new Metallica album, so maybe before James went to rehab, they might've been working on stuff like that...?

I'm sorry, i don't speak idiot, u'll have to write that in English for me - if u can't i can provide u with a site that translates from ur native language to english, and if thats to much you can pm me and i'll translate for u - at no cost

I think what u mean to say is this

Hello, I write nonsense on the board and like to attack those who get annoyed with that, but please forgive me as I'm quite mad and haven't yet managed to contribute anything to a Metallica thread

Was that about it?

Any time you'd like to talk about Metallica, you'll come back right?
