I have no problems with the sound quality of this record...it sounds fine...and obviously music fans around the world have no problem with it as this thing continues to dominate the charts...this is by far the best Metallica record since the black album, I even prefer it over "...and justice for all"...i was never big on justice though...There are some songs on there that you will be hearing 10 or 15 years down the line...

Im not a big fan of The Black Album. Maybe cause its over played.
I was never a Metallica fan to be honest.
I bought all the earlier albums and I like the big popular songs, but I cant really listen to the albums start to finish.
Death Magnetic is awesome from beginning to end and I feel it is their best album. Maybe not their most commercial "Black" But I truly connect well with every single song. The guitar playing is just out of this world and ridiculous.
Maybe its because guitar playing in general sucks these days but There are so many riffs on each song. just when u think a song can't take another twist and turn, here comes another one.
lyrically its some of James best work also.
I actually read a thread on Metallica.com where people were criticizing and saying Lars wasn't a great drummer.
Are u fucking kidding me? I think anyone who says that is out of their mind.

Why are we worried about sound quality here?
We all know that St. Anger sucked pretty badly, and it's one of the worst albums ever.
DM, well it's the album they could of made 15-18 years ago. It sounds like something from Master of Puppets.
It's a good cd, well worth the buy. I play most of my songs through 2 small Phillips Mag laptop speakers, which isn't great, but it all sounds good, and crisp.
There's no issue with the sound on this cd. Great rocking album

This album isnt interesting me at all on first listen currently.
I dont think his vocal style he uses now fits with the music style they are trying to emulate from 20+ years ago.
Although the riffs aint no where near as good as their old stuff.
Im gonna have to listen to it again later, the albums actually giving me earache (prbz from that loudness war crap, i read its ment to give you ear fatigue)

MOP
Death
RTL
KEA
Anger
Black
Reload
The new record is fuckin great. It reminds me alot of Justice. But some of the riffs are very Slayerish in my opinion.

The swingy blues feel of Loud is what makes me love it so much. You can still headbang to it but you can also sway if you want to.

i actually like Ride The Lightning better, and i think its my favorite metallica album. then Master of Puppets comes in second. and AJFA third.
i think people underrated Lightning cuz Master of Puppets came after it.

METALLICA played a special rehearsal show to about 1,200 family, friends, contest winners and members of the band's official fan club Friday night (October 17) at the Cow Palace just outside San Francisco, California. According to photographer Alan Ralph, who attended the concert, it was a "great show (of course!), in the round, complete with fire, a bit of pyro, laser light show (entire first song, then during some of 'Master Of Puppets'), eight huge lighting rigs shaped as coffins, and a setlist that went from 'Harvester Of Sorrow' to five 'Death Magnetic' tracks to 'Fight Fire With Fire', 'Master Of Puppets', and 'Seek And Destroy'! Unfortunately, they didn't play 'Creeping Death', they played three slower songs, and they played a 'St. Anger' song, 'Frantic'. The stage itself was very basic ? eight mics, one placed every 10 feet, drumset in the middle (on a rotating spinner, which spun 1/4 turn every few songs to make a complete loop by the end of the show), two sets of 4-5 amps, not stacked, kept low to the stage so people could see over them; in between the sets was a fire rig (picture attached as well)."
The group's setlist was as follows:
01. That Was Just Your Life
02. The End Of The Line
03. Harvester Of Sorrow
04. Wherever I May Roam
05. One
06. Broken, Beat And Scarred
07. Cyanide
08. Frantic
09. Until It Sleeps
10. The Four Horsemen
11. The Day That Never Comes
12. Master Of Puppets
13. Fight Fire With Fire
14. Nothing Else Matters
15. Enter Sandman
- - - - - - - -
16. Last Caress
17. Blitzkrieg
18. Seek And Destroy
