Just starting to get into Metallica

bought Master Of Puppets, Ride The Lightning, And Justice For All

These albums are as good as advertised

Fuckin classic! ok

Makes St Anger even more shittier! hihi

I suggest listening to the new stuff first and going backwards, that way they get better as you go.

rofl i was just going to say that.

And justice for all is a favorite of mine at the moment. hihi

That's one of their best. We used to smoke incredible amounts of weed and listen to it when it first came out.

It's difficult to explain how much those early albums stood out, since there really wasn't anything like it at that time. Something you don't really get, when you are listening to music for the first time, years down the road.

Yeah...those two have very few strong points. Between both of em theres only a few songs I like and they still pale in comparison to the first 4 albums.

Just think d, it only took you ten years to find out what everybody already knew.

i still say one of the main problems with them was bob rock. They got way to comfortable with him as producer. He just seemed to let them do what every with out trying to push them to strive for the best they could do,

i agree. i love King Nothing. and Memory Remains. and Fuel.

the Black album was ALOT softer than their first 4. Bob Rock helped them achieve what they wanted, and they probably let him hang around for 1 album too many.

they have continued to evolve over the years. i can't knock them for that.

looking forward to that announcement next week!  ok

Their was probale a strong to good album in both Load and Reload . The really shouldn't have released both . just took the best of each and made one album.

Hero Of the Day
Bleeding me
Fuel
until it sleeps
King Ain't my Bitch
Memory Remains
UnForgiven 2
Mama Said.

And one or two more ...

No, I do as well.  Haven't always but recently i've listened to them loads and I really like them.  I think people's biggest issue is the band stopped playing music the hardcore fanbase like and even thought they were commercial, to an extent, they even lost some of that value with their new fans by experimenting and not having too much consistency in the genre of music throughout, from Country and Old Women doing backing vocals to Hard Rock and Soft Rock Ballads, for some I guess it was a bit to all over the place and many think the songs themselves were weak.  I still think its a similiar scenario to Motley Crue's self titled effect, good record, but it wasn't "them", fans come to expect something with their fave band, a certain sound/vibe, and they didn't present that.  Incidently I still think their strongest stuff of the 90s is the Garage Inc. 2 Disc CD, their versions of Turn The Page and Tuesday's Gone are superb!
