Metallica do have a few good songs. but for the most part, I don't like their sound because metal is not my kind of music. it's barely noise for me. and I have the impression this is always the same. It's a too limited conception of music. I don't really like the metal style.

"Noise"?, "a too limited conception of music"?; are you really that narrow-minded?

Metallica are an awful band to make an opinion of metal on. Everything they have done since in the 90's and later is noise anyway.

Load and Re-Load aren't 'noise' no matter how good or bad albums they may be, but St. Anger is more or less noise.

Mast Of Puppets has been rated many times as the greatest metal album ever.

Maybe you've mainly heard Linkin Park or Slipknot.  Try lstening to some decent metal and pay attention.  Never mind the fact that it's played loud and is 'noisy' some of metal's greatest moments are modern music's greatest moments.  That includes Metallica pre-1990.  To say it's limited would be right in the case of some bands, many don't change their sound at all from album to album.  But name me any other kind of music that isn't limited in some way.

Anyway, you've come on here saying all this - what is your kind of music?  Apart from GN'R obviously!

Metallica started to go lame after the black album.

Master of Puppets is the best by them.

SOME KIND OF MONSTER EP DETAILS

Some Kind Of Monster (album version)
The Four Horsemen (Live from Le Bataclan, Paris, June 11th 2003)
Damage, Inc. (Live from Le Bataclan, Paris, June 11th 2003)
Leper Messiah (Live from Le Bataclan, Paris, June 11th 2003)
Motorbreath (Live from Le Boule Noire, Paris, June 11th 2003)
Ride The Lightning (Live from Le Bataclan, Paris, June 11th 2003)
Hit The Lights (Live Le Trabendo, Paris, June 11th 2003)
Some Kind Of Monster (edit)

In conjunction with the July 9, 2004 opening of the Metallica documentary film "Metallica:  Some Kind Of Monster," Elektra Recoreds will issue a deluxe CD+T package of the sme name.

The package, set for release on July 13, will feature six live Metallica classics as well as two versions of the title-track, one drawn from Metallica's 2003 album St. Anger plus a fully remixed and edited version for this disc by famed producer Bob Rock.  Also included in the package is a limited edition compressed T-shirt in large or extra-large sizes, emblazoned with the film's movie poster art across the chest.  Double extra-large sizes will be available online at metallica.com.  The disc is also available at retail outlets without the T-shirt.

Judging from the tracklist (the exact same live tracks were on the UK 'unnamed feeling' EP) this must be a US only release, then.

I bought it yesterday with the t-shirt from virgin megastores for ?18.99.

I dig Metallica, the st anger album has it's moments. It's good in it's own way.

The best song metallica ever did is the one on Garage Inc. "Loverman" That song/cover is about a devil that gets closer and closer until he is practically besides you. That one is genious whoever wrote the original.

It's by Nick Cave. And the original is infinitely better than the shitty Metallica cover.

I know alot of the mainstream fans keep choosing the black album, and I love it don't get me wrong, but master of puppets is perfetion. The entire album is where they peaked and few bands have reached a plateau like that. Best songs....Battery, creeping death, seek and destroy, one, harvester of sorrow, ain't my bitch, sanitarium, orion, master of puupets, wherever I may roam, No leaf clover.

Hey, Metallifucks, I never knew this and it's quite distdurbing but the cover for the Load album is supposedly a mixture of 'sex wee' and cow's blood.

Take a look for yourselves, Metallifucks:

Kill em all is an amazing album (apart from the awful bass solo....which is sheer torture)

And justice for all is a surprisingly weak album but still better than the newer suff

Yew wot?!?  The bass solo is class, it's the most mature sounding part of Kill Em All.

And Justice For All... in not weak either, but I can see why someone wouldn't like it.  If I had my way I'd get Lars Fuckwit to get the damn album remixed or something to get the bass audible, then you'd hear a different album.  Other than that a few songs on there would be stronger if they were shortened.  One is worth buying the album for alone though!

Metallica's best albums are the first 5.  The Black album's the weak relation but it's not bad for commercial metal.

AJFA deifnately needs bass but the songs are the right length. I can't wait to hear the new album to be recorded in February 2005, which I hope will have improved sound quality all-together with solos.
