She is very talented. She is indie, russian, It's like if Sarah McLachlan's voice was applied to Tom Waits strung out over piano about to have sex. You love her or hate her, but she is an amazing songwriter. She almost never writes about pop culture, this is the only time I recall and I have her stuff back to when she was selling it on CD-R.

She is absolutely horrific. I saw her open for The Strokes on New Years Eve in Las Vegas a few years ago. She was so bad that we left the concert before her set was over. Luckily the tickets were comps.
