Hmm... The fans who care about it enough and GN'R's comeback and want their (especially Axl's) hard work to not be tainted by people who feel it should be given out for free, should organize an online CD leak prevention group. Report websites, message boards etc. that host CD or work as an enabler or communication platform for people looking to download it.

Now, as you noticed, I said "the fans who care about it", so all those people who feel like opposing the idea, just don't worry about. I promise you your lives will not be affected by this. ?

It's interesting to me that a couple days after Axl says it's not coming out till fall that this pops up. Almost as if someone is saying, "Get your shit together and release it or we will."

You know, that *last* thing we need right now is for the album to leak. ?After 13 years of slaving to create this record, let's wait until he's almost ready to put it out before we piss him off, right? ?That way he can get (rightfully) enraged and decide to hold off for another decade or so. ?
 
Yes, it's been sometime since a GnR album was released, and Axl has to realize that leaks are, for better or worse, now the nature of the beast. ?Still, I don't want to hear the finished tracks until I have the purchased CD in my hands.

If the actual mastered album does in fact leak, the one bright side is that it means it's finished and out of axl's hands. And that i will hit shelves ASAP to avoid losing a ton of money. I would imagine we'll see one of those friday releases they sneak on us at the last minute, instead of the coming tuesday as scheduled. They did it with St. Anger to get people to buy it.

I think this is entirely bullshit.

Although, if the Star Wars movie can leak, nothing Axl can do will prevent CD from leaking. I don't think they would leak this soon, when the album isn't due until the fall. Usually it occurs at the duplication facility, guy working there burns a copy, passes it to friends or posts it online at a file sharing site.

If anything it may speed up the release date, as the company & Axl will then want to get it out asap.

As for a CD Leak prevention group??? Count me out, I'll be ripping these tracks right away.. Don't get me wrong, I'll still buy the album once it's out, but I've waited 15 years for this shit, I don't need to wait until "fall/late fall"

As far as the record company doing it on purpose, i highly doubt it, because i highly doubt anyone high enough to make an official call on that has a copy of it. The only was i see it happening is it's really done and being pressed, and someone that works there does it.
