just thought I'd mention that a new season of SNL just started, and right after a sketch before going to commercial, I noticed one of those gig ads on a pole in NY for Tommy Stinson, and thought that was cool.

Yeah I saw that too, would have been cool if it was an ad for him doing the show though.  BTW, i watched the first hour or so of the show, and thought the show was horrible.  SNL hasn't had a good cast in awhile, i couldn't believe how bad some of the cast members were, hard to believe that this was the same show that has produced so many great comedic talents.

yeah, I agree about not having a great cast in a while, but this episode actually wasn't too bad. there were only a few sketches that absolutely bombed. but hey, it's Ben affleck, what do you expect? I watched one of those "classic" ones that come on at 3am, and that one seriously just made this new one look like a goddamn Chris Walken episode. ie, impressive.

January 18, 1986.

General Tommy Stinson. 19 freakin' years old. The fourth album/masterpiece by the Mats, "Tim" was released. Live Like a Suicide was still almost a year away.

Sorry-could only find this clip of "Bastards of Young" I don't know anywhere that has "Kiss Me On The Bus" (although I got it buried on some old videotape).

They have used this shot every single episode of SNL for at least the last 2 seasons.
