Actually, he's no different at all that he was in the Brazil 2001 interviews or the Detroit 2002 interview.

I wish people would just do some research and go through the archives before making misleading comments insinuations like G&R aren't gonna promote much in the US because of the relative hostility to the new band at shows in 2002 and the media's desire to ask 'juicy questions'.

Go read the Rolling Stone interview from SIX years ago. Even then Axl was restless to finally have his say. He actually wrote something like a 1,500 word essay for RS about his side of the old band's break-up but pulled it at the last minute.

Of COURSE he's going to do a stack of huge long interviews. Go and read the 2002 pre-tour press release where he spoke in depth about the old and new band and everything. We're gonna have interviews like the masive RIP ones of the early 90's.

But we're not gonna have them before people have heard new music because as has been said over and over, he wants the music to speak for itself first.
