If they gave out CD at the door, I bet some people would leave the concert to go find a cd player. Tongue

I have to say...  I think you're absolutely right on that one.

Not going to happen, but I think it would be a pretty cool gesture. I just want to hear that thing already!!!

Deadfeat.

How about giving a copy of CD to each fan at a european concert? That would make sense aswell then, wouldn't it?  hihi

This will not happen but it would be really cool if they handed out like a promo single or something. omething that wont make the album.

I don't think, after the leaks, the record company are gonna be too happy to give out anything new to a small group of people, because, in the age of global internet access, there is no "small group of people".

So, no.

it would never happen, I mean really all those fans there, it would cause a riot with fans trying to get more copies and shit and trying to make sure they get their copy

plus think about it, within hours all of those tracks would be on the net and fuck over ever trying to release the album

if anything, maybe an EP of already known tracks, such as the leaks and 2002 shit, but even then the chances are 1 in a billion it would happen

Yeah a single would own.  It couldn't hurt the band or sales of CD in anyway.

nah, if anything it would decrease the number of copies they sell. if they hand it out at the door and lets say its scheaduled for release a month or two later, then the few people that did get there hands on cd would spread around the internet or burn it and give copies to there friends.

Prince on his tour a couple years back gave away a CD with the purchase of a ticket-Cd was given at concert, and I think it was counted as far as soundscan sales go, which may have been his motive-other than that, I don't think that trend will catch on-really nothing to gain other than some publicity for doing it-I highly doubt the label would go for it-come to think of it, Prince might even have his own label anyway.

They did count those sales but they've since changed the rule about how you count sales.

It's like, four warm up shows in NYC, then loads of big european festivals with other dates in between, then more dates after (2 of which with the rolling stones) and then a full on USA tour.

I think if it were gonna come out at any time, this year is it. I also feel if this year is a fuck up (which I hope it isn't) then this GnR and Axl will be viewed as a joke and never be relevant again.

If I were Axl I would give out something on the last NY show.  So, by the time GNR cross the Atlantic, the fans would be twice as excited as they are now and the tour would be a huge success!  ('Cause if this european tour turns out to be lame, Axl is sooooo over.) Sad Sad Sad

lol!!!!!
my first thought!

I'd be THRILLED if he flashed us a copy of it (CD case with complete artwork etc.)...
I can just picture him doing it, waving his finger at us like "now, now... behave yourselves" and then tossing it to the back of the stage with a laugh.  Cheesy

I don't believe that CD or a single will be released at the show...
What I am curious about is how the previously used "Chinese Democracy" name/theme will prevail as a theme in the stage design / merchandise etc.
The 02 tour was called the Chinese Democracy World Tour.... and the chinese style lettering used etc...
will this continue?

I think it would create a riot, considering the audience that will be there. Unless it's in stores before the shows, i doubt it.

Axl's master plan. Create a huge riot and you're on world news! hihi

How about playing short bits....like teasers.... of a few songs while the crowd waits for the show to start. I bet you would hear a pin drop with everyone trying to hear the songs. Good way to create a buzz for the crowd to talk about after the shows.

Wow, you ain't kidding! It'd be like the guys at the soundboard could just decide if/when they wanted everyone to shut the fuck up by playing snippets of the finished tracks.
