According to the webmaster from gunsnrosesonline.de, who got his information from a reliable source who has connections to gnr people, guns might release a single during the summer tour due to too much pressure, as they wanted to release a single during their fall US tour.

Damn right they should. Instead of doing what they did in '02 and do a tour without a album or not even a single.

If they release a single, JUST A SINGLE, and don't release the album, it'll be a joke.

people haven't waited 13 years for a single, they've waited for an entire collection of songs. If they only release a single it says "Something's better than nothing."

"No one ever told me when I was alone, they just thought I'd know Better"

......Well I'm telling you now Axl, KNOW BETTER!!!! RELEASE THE ALBUM WITH THE SINGLE

A single (at least) would be great for the Euro tour, and actually show that something is coming.

Let's hope it's true, I had a feeling these summer shows might be filmed and used as footage for a video for a new single. You have to say a single at least in the summer would seem the next logical step for GNR to take, but when has logic ever counted for much in the GNR world lol  peace

If Axl Rose release a fuckin' single, it means that he's laughing at our faces, it's miserable for Guns N' ROses Label release a single.
Asingle must've been released in '02

I don't understand this... there is almost always a single release before an album. It's standard practice!

Yes, there's always a single but in normal albums, but in my oppinion for a 13 years album there's no time for a single, furthermore people have already heard many songs.... ?ok

The way things work in the UK, there won't be a single out before July, otherwise it would already be on the radio.

Which is a shame. I was hoping they'd release an EP of the finished versions of the leaked tracks to coincide with the tour.

The public at large haven't, and they are the ones who will make the album a success when it's released. There has to be a single first.

Nah, I think they could still have one sent to radio at least at the end of the month for a release in July. This is GN'R ok

And most albums don't take 13 years in the making!

A single might always preceed an album with other bands but this isn't a normal band situation is it.

I'm fairly certain it would be Axl's intent to release singles from any new GN'R albums. That's what's always happened with them before, and despite that fact the album has been in the making for so long doesn't mean it's release scenario will be different to how it's always been.... so there will hopefully be a single, then the album, followed by other singles.

Exactely! CD will most likely be no different than any other album in terms of it's release timeframe of single, album, then more singles. Besides, the video for YCBM premeired in late June '91 and the next single (Don't Cry) along with the album's release in September. Sound familiar?

To be honest, IF this is true about releasing a single for the summer tour, I think they're better off waiting to release a single until the fall (perhaps between tours if there is a fall tour to be scheduled). Play all the CD you want on this summer tour to entice the die hard fans and give them what they want, but let the rest of the world wait a bit longer for that first single. I'm sure GN'R will want to ride this first album (if there are in fact 3 albums to be released) as long as they can so a single in the fall, one around the new year and another two in spring and summer of '07 would allow them to continue touring on the album through the following fall easily. At that point we can all take the winter and spring off and gear up for a new album and a summer '08 tour!

Okay, so I got a little distracted there at the end, but you catch my drift. There's no need to use a single to promote a tour where you will be playing alot of new music anyway (ala Get in the Ring tour). I don't think it would hurt, but as long as GN'R KEEP THE WHEELS IN MOTION starting with this tour, I don't think it matters in the long run.

a single is always a good sign. it means an album is coming soon.
just remeber the good old "you could be mine" and "don't cry" days. 2 singles released for UYI before they were released  - although "don't cry" was pretty close to the date.

If a tour in the Fall is to follow along with the new album, I see nothing wrong with releasing a single to help tide us over in the meantime. But then again, I'm just happy they're gonna be playing all these upcoming shows! ok
