Just speculating here.... but I think Izzy might of had some "behind the scenes" input on Chinese Democracy... I also think he might have been the one that told Slash it was actually "pretty good" or whatever Slash said... doesn't mean there's a reunion coming OR that Izzy is back though.

Agreed. I think Izzy would be doing the same thing as Paul Tobias - writing material, but not touring with the new band. It's the most plausible scenario I can think off.

if Merck was there it had to be about business as well. if they manage the three most important members of GNR it would in their best interest to get the original members back together. it would be the biggest score for them coz as far as i know Morrissey is their biggest selling act they have at the moment. from sanctuarys point of view this could be a huge deal for them. it will be 1993 all over again. everywhere you turned GNR was in your face. so who knows...maybe just maybe there is a little bit of hope for us.

Why would they always have to talk about Guns N' Roses? And how would you know? It doesn't always have to be about Guns N' Roses. They could've just enjoyed dinner and the celebration of Izzy's birthday. Who knows man, who knows.

I think you've gotta look at it like this. Axl met Izzy, things are cool. Axl met Matt Sorum for the first time in 6 years, things were cool. Now he may or may not run into Duff at the download festival...I'd say if he does, and they spoke, then that only leaves Slash. And at the end of the VH1 behind the music, Slash said he wasn't closed to the idea of a reunion.

but back on topic, Izzy back with the new Guns? That's the most credible rumor thus far. Much more likely than Brian May, Kravitz, etc. 8 Days and we'll find out. Something big is sure to go down on May 12th and I'm glad I have floor GA tickets to see it

as of november 2005, slash was wuite interested in a reunion i think.... it will happen at some point

The two look similar and Axl even has said in statements that Richard is like Izzy.

I think Izzy cares for Axl a lot, and it must have been killing him to see the guy struggle and flounder with all the weight of GUNS N' ROSES on his shoulders alone... the public ridicule etc...  I really don't think Izzy would want back in the band.... but I could see him being a kind  of "behind the scenes" facilitator though... and maybe even adding in a little Izzy Stradlin' groove (easily replicated live by Fortus) to some of the CD tracks to pull this fucker off....

Isn't Izzy's birthday on the 8th of April? Why would they have a party on a Tuesday night 3 days after Izzy's birthday when they coulda had on on his actual birthday on a Saturday.

And not because I want Izzy in GN'R again....  but just because it'd be cool for Axl to have mended a relationship which has obviously meant a lot to him.
Even if its just on a casual level...   its just better to know Axl has these positive vibes in his life / surrounding him.
