All 3 Stones shows at MSG on the recent tour ended just before 12, so I guess the curfew there is midnight. I think it varies from venue to venue - clubs and bars can have music much later into the night. I also heard a couple of years ago, though not from anyone official, that the fine is $10k/minute - this was when The Stones played Roseland in 2002.
'

Roseland has a "hard" venue curfew.  They'll fine you and, at some point, pull the plug.  But THAT curfew is one the venue imposes.  That I know for sure.

We all know that once's Axl's on stage he's king. He still has the 'power' to do whatever he pleases. No worry about curfews. You'll all be fine in NYC! Can't wait to read your reviews / blogs!

I just know I don't want to be at the show where the venue cuts stage power....... I've had a hard enough time getting my wife on board with me doing all this time in NYC, I don't want to hear her reaction when she sees the riot on the news.

GNR played at MSG in '02 without any curfew problems. I wouldn't worry about this...

This is a venue specific curfue, and if the website is correct they won't be hitting the stage until somewhere near 11:00 PM. If what we hear is true about a 12:30 venue curfue then there could be a problem. When have GnR ever played a 90 minute show, and how many times have they ever gone on stage at the advertised time?

I just went to their website and checked these assclowns out......all I can say is good luck boys, the GNR crowd for these specific shows will be merciless.  Other then the Sanctuary connection, who in their right fucking mind thought this would be a good idea?  Just play house music for 4 hours ala the Las Vegas shows.  These guys suck, and it could get real ugly after 2 or 3 songs.  CKY made more sense, and that is a fucking stretch......................

i would think this all would be planned out in advance. (ie- in the contract gnr signs with the venue it would make reference of any curfew). i really wouldn't bother worrying about this.

ps- i also downloaded some bullet songs to check em out... the guitar work and drumming isn't bad. vocals are ok. i'm scared to go to their website cuz i imagine they look like typical annoying generic rockers...

MTV posted news about Bullet for Valentine opening at the Hammerstein shows.  It mentions GnR, followed by "Axl and his band will perform..."  Seems a bit snarky, if you ask me.

Also, further down the page it mentions Pink covering "Welcome to the Jungle."  Ugh.

Pink indeed.  I started reading, and it has something to do with a film about a tour of hers, and that she covered WTTJ as part of the set.  Whether or not she's actually recording it, I can't say, as my eyes were bleeding by that point.

Now that I will have to disagree with - on one of my trips out to LA last year, I found a GNR cover band I really, really like - Hollywood Roses.  They put on one hell of a show, & they sound damn good.   ok

PS - they're on MySpace, if anyone is interested!

I actually think Bullet For My Valentine is a decent band, much better band than most other new bands that are out there today.

Plus I would much rather listen to these guys open than having to listen to CKY and Mix Master Mike again  Roll Eyes

Although, what should be done is scrap the whole opening band thing and just have the opening boob fest with some good rick music playing over the speakers  beer

I'd really love if there is no opening band at all.  Almost anyone is going to suck and everyone is going to be very impatiently waiting to see if/when GNR hit the stage.  Just let us stand there in peace at least and not subject us to noise.  Maybe Axl could put together some of his favorite songs to play over the PA during the wait.

CKY and Mix Master Mike (although I like some Beastie Boys stuff) were painful.

Not everyone would be painful to watch. I wish Bullets and Octane were opening, they kick hard.

I'd just like to know if Axl is a fan of Bullet for My Valentine and that's why they're opening, or is it just another record company thing.

has anyone noticed that if you check their official website that the NYC shows are NOT listed on their tour page. And also that they have other dates set for that weekend in other cities, not even in New York State even until Buffalo in the middle of the week

http://www.bulletformyvalentine1.com/website/html/tours.php

so is it known actually that BFV will be opening for GNR for all the GNR shows, if at all?
