Too bad Avenged Sevenfold couldn't stick around the area and open, they're much better, Bullet for my Valentine is way too metal and screamo.

They aren't the best, but I actually don't mind them. They are like everything else that is out in that genre now. I might actually like them by the time the show comes up.

I thought it might be Av7x at first too because they're playing the same venue a couple of days after GNR. Then the day after I had that thought, I heard a commerical that said they're actually playing Cobo Hall here in Detroit on May 12 so I was immediately proved wrong! I am gonna get some tunes by Bullet though so I can be familar with some of their stuff before the show.

I know nothing about them. If nothing else, we now know that there is in fact an opener, and that there's no way in hell GnR will take the stage before 11 pm...

Hahaha....thats funny that you say that. I've mentioned before that I have betting squares that my friends and I are using to make a pot depending on what time GNR comes on stage. As soon as I read this thread I thought "OH SHIT, I'd should've taken a later time!" then I got a call from someone who took 10:15 asking if he could change his time!

Better IMO than AV7Fold. I think they have an annoying singer.

Awesome, This will be a reason to actually show up at 7:30. I never really heard of these guys until I heard they were opening up for GN'R in Europe. Now I have two of their albums. They are ok, sometimes a bit screamo, but should be a great opening act.
I've only heard some iTunes clips, but they sound more than just "a bit" screamo. I dig the metal harmony guitars, though.

According to some theres a curfew which starts at 11. Someone here HAS to have been to a concert in NYC in the last few months..what times did those end?

Here's some insight into Axls thoughts on curfews. Detroit has an 10:55pm curfew for all concerts in Wayne & Oaklands counties. GNR didn't even hit the stage in 2002 until about 11:45 and they played until almost 1 (because Axl walked out on the show).
