how much money are going to be lost if they cancel?

this may seem like a stupid topic but honestly, with the always present risk of cancellation, if the whole tour ended up being cancelled, how much fucking money would be thrown out the window? i'm curious. add up all the ticket sales (most of the concerts in europe are festivals which can't be refunded), hotels (can they be cancelled?), plane tickets etc. paid for by thousands of fans... the last european tour wasn't likely to happen, plus it was smaller, so i don't think the costs in 2001 of the cancellation were even remotely close to what we'll have if they cancel this time. i have faith that axl follows through, but i'd like anyone to take a guess at this? how much fucking money would fans have wasted, all put together, if this tour is cancelled?

They won't cancel.  But I would imagine the band is making around $150-200,000 for each show in Hammerstein.  If they were to cancel, they would lose all their appearance fees and many future appearance fees.  Axl practically lives in NYC now.  There's no chance he'll miss these shows.  According to GnR, the Vancouver and Philly shows could have happened, and Axl really didn't cancel that many shows during GnR's heyday.  The St. Louis show and the Montreal show where the effects malfunctioned were the only real incidents

i'd lose about $80 for tickets and $20 for the commute to and from hammerstein..

so if they cancel before the show, i'll lose $80.. and if i go to hammerstein and they dont show up i'll lose $100

Well my plane ticket and hotel reservation are non-refundable so I'd be out at least $1000. Plus I'm using 5 vacation days, so I'm not sure what that would amount too. Whether they cancel or not I'm headed to NY.lol

well,  i figured 4 shows, 3000 ppl a show, 63 dollars a ticket, so just on face value ticket sales they would have grossed 756,000 dollars.  So for a band that hasnt played in 4 years, and really only played one dynamite show that being the msg show, the fact that 12000 want to see them should be reason enough not to cancel

I would lose zero on the tickets (they were freebies).

If they were to cancel the day of the show, I'd lose about $60 for the train ride.

Everyone who is including ticket price in their "losses"...remember, provided you can prove you bought the tix through TM or the Box office...you'd get  a refund less the TM service fee.  On those $80 (approx) tix, you'd get all but about $20 back.

Id lose:
 75 per ticket for 2 shows.
 90 per night for 2 nights for the hotel.
 The gas money for a trip from NE Ohio to NYC.
 


And most importantly: ID LOSE ALL FAITH I HAVE IN MY FAVORITE BAND SINCE I WAS 12.  They would pretty much be non existent to me after taht.  They may be nonexistent anyway if they cancle.

I f I  lost that much coin on them i would have lost interest in them a long time ago; when they didn't show in Philly, the tix i had were paid for so i only lost the time from my life and whatever i spent at the bar at the Wachovia Center

I would lose close to $300 on the tickets the hotel - all in all $600.  The only hotel I could get a room in was the Crowne Plaza in Time Square for $300 a night <whew>
