According to Gamerco.com, the GN'R show in Madrid on May 28th has been moved to May 25th which means the European tour will start in Spain.
Tickets bought for the 28th will be valid for the new date.

So has anyone speculated as to the WHY of the date change?

Does this ease the schedule? Was there a conflict in the venue booking? Are they adding another gig later? Did they just want an extra night to warm up before RIR?

I don't think a date change bringing a show forward is a bad sign really, it may well be entirely due to a situation at the venue rather than anything to do with the band that the date has changed, I wouldn't read anything negative into it  ok

I agree it's not a very smart move so close to the actual date...

i understand that that sucks, do you live in lisbon?
worse for the people flying in from other countries to catch the "first" show when it was in fact the 6th... glad i waited.

chill your ass!
there goes airplane tickets, hotel bookings and vacations arrangements.
now here's what's to do tomorrow:
1) try to find a flight for the 25th, and probably having to spend 3 or 4 times more what i was expecting.
2) try to find a flight back to lisboa on the 26th and be here before 8 a.m. or we won't be able to do the soundcheck at the hard rock cafe, which means not playing there at night
3) if that's the case, cancelling the flyers for the show, and probably loosing the contract for my band's other show at the hard rock.
other chances are not going to the madrid show, which is probably the realistic scenario.

It sucks, and I totally empathize for those effected... but no one can go too ape shit. Concert dates are always subject to change or cancellation... and for all we know this rescheduling was necessitated by something legitimate beyond the band's or venue's control. At least they're still playing Madrid, and you've got 3+ weeks to try and make it work.

If not, maybe you guys can catch them somewhere else in Europe this summer..

Good luck. beer
