I don`t think they will open with a new song, `cause the opener should always be a well known song that makes the crowd go crazy. I would love to hear NIGHTRAIN or IT`S SO EASY as the first song. If they really open with one of the new tracks (what I don`t believe) then it should be CHINESE DEMOCRACY.

Thinking about it, maybe I'd like them to start off with Get in the Ring. Axl could replace all the old names with those who have pissed him off recently: 'And that goes for you, Scott Weiland and the bloke from the Observer who said I need to go back and spend some more time on my songs...'?

I would like to see them open with Fat Bottomed Girls, and introduce Mr. May http://www.therockradio.com/2006/03/paul-rodgers-sets-solo-tour-dates.htmlLooks like his schedule could be wide open this summer. If not that, then either Garden or Eden or IRS (where they could draw out the intro, and have the lights kick in with the first big guitar chord)!!

its ridiculous that they ever played a show they didnt have jungle as the first tune. there isnt an act in popular music that has such a tailored made concert starter in their canon as guns have with jungle - not rocks off, start me up, rolling stone or smells like teen spirit.
nightrain was a great opener, but come on. its the minority these days that have seen guns more than 2 or 3 times in concert and even for them, and people who have seen them less, there is nothing in the present canon that can match the sheer thrill of that welcome intro. nothing.
nightrain was perfect last time round as the main set closer (its my favourite guns tune and i wouldnt like to see it lost in the middle section).

I think it will be WTTJ but I would love it if they opened with Dont Damn Me or something old and totally random. But I think everyone would be happy if dont damn me was played anywhere in the set.

You're all making Axl sound like a predictable has-been....
Personally, I think he's making a huge mistake if the first song Gn'R plays in over 4 years live is something more than 10 years old!!
The song they will open with is "Better"
Trust me...the intro...
It will work it's wonders....

The 2002 tour setlist was predictable after the first show.

The 2002 tour setlist was predictable after the first show. And we shall hope these festival dates wont suffer the same predictable fate....

I believe it was HTGTH's "D" who came up with the "Better" intro scenario WHICH I LOVED!!!!
There will be enough of us (board members) there to know what's up.
We'll freak out so much that the rest of the crowd will just feed off of us.
So are we like those Trekkie fans or Star Wars fanatics??
I used to make fun of those people............

I don't remember any one standing looking at their watches durring Jungle.
Jungle would work perfect In New York City.
Open with what people know. WTTJ, Nightrain, You Could Be Mine, It's so easy.
It would be great if they learned more of UYI. And since they'd have to learn it, they are the New GNR. I don't know whoever said there's only one GNR, but that's crazy. Everybody here knows this is a new band. They are Technically "Guns N' Roses" but they are not the band that ruled the world in the early 90's. New line-up=New Band.
I do love the new band so don't damn me for saying that. I'm ecstatic about seeing them in New York, and I hope that this group does dominate in their was like the old one did in their way.
