AMAZING!

That was how I experienced Gilby yesterday in Noordwijkerhout! He played basically the same set as at the other gigs he did in Europe. His bandmates were also playing very well. There were maybe 150 people, so very intimate.
At 9 some crazy guy came up stage to play guitar accompanied by a backing cd. He played for 30 minutes. Then Gilby started around 10 and played for approximately 80 minutes. Then he came back to sign merchandise and you could take a picture together with him (which I did). He also signed the dvd I bought. He was very relaxed, just a regular guy willing to make a small chat to everybody. If you have a chance to see him: do so! It's a very special experience, to stand so close to one of our guitar heros. And it only costed 17,50 euros, pretty cheap!

I almost forget to mention a very nice detail: At one moment (during "Tijuana") Gilby threw a guitar pick (he did this only once) into the audience. Guess who catched this.... ok

That's cool Cool I was thinking about going to Sjiwa or Noordwijkerhout but for both the distance was too far for me... too bad Undecided

You've got any pictures taken or small movies?

Ok, well looking forward to see them.

Hopefully he'll be back here someday and a little closer in my range.. but I don't think we'll see him on a European tour or in Holland anytime soon.

I read on Dutchdemocracy that there where about 40 people in Sjiwa, it's good to hear there where a few more in Noordwijkerhout yesterday Grin

I got to see Gilby in concert 4 yrs ago by himself and he was great.? Got a chance to talk to him and took a picture with him.? Probably, the most down to earth guy I have ever met.? ?I also got a chance to see him with GN'R right after Izzy left and was very happy with him in the band.? He will probably never play with the GN'R boys again but always thought he was a great rockstar.? Hope his new band does well with him and Tommy and Jason.? ?I would go see them if they come around the Minnneapolis area.?
