Some people here thinks that 2006 will be the year of CD since 2+0+0+6=8, and Axl was born in (19)62, 6+2=8, etc., so 8 is the magic number of Axl. (BTW 2015 can be the year...)

have no idea. The Hits 2 thing did seems odd though. All this talk of 2 CD's with material picked out by various members. It did seem like a hoax although i was kinds thinking maybe it was a hoax to cover up for the relase of CD.

Maybe, but then why would major online retail chains have it listed? Somebody at Uni obviuosly thought it was coming out this year and gave them that info-and as of now it hasn't been rescheduled to a later date-it even appears some Uni reps (based on comments by other posters) are denying it's coming out at all---bizzare.

I'm not waiting around for the band members to speak. To me there are 3 significant events (that we know of) that will tell us all we need to know about this band - Rock In Rio, the March Court Case and Tommy's activity with Soul Asylum.

 I agree with pretty much all of this-if Tommy starts scheduling dates with SA well into the new year, it might be time to pull the  on this whole thang. I'd only add that IF a release date for GH2 comes out soon, it also probably spells trouble.

I am really confused here.
It is really absurd that any label would bring out 3 (!!!) Greatest hits within 15 or so months.
OK,   they do want their money back from all the money they gave  Axl for the stuff they never received.
OK,   they do have the right to do so too.
But hey,  GNR had 4 studio albums in total (not counting TSI).   Now they will have 3 Greatest hits!?
On all three of them it was just Geffen choice,  having band members excluded from any song choosing.
What I am trying to say - it makes no sense.
Unless,  they are trying to say that last year they made wrong choice of songs!?
Wouldn't there be more sense in bringing out new DVD from UYI tour,  which would bring them more money cause this is something that all former band fans would buy while another Greatest hits would only be for another, under 2 million people, most of which were not in the band,  but liked few hits which can be now found on the disc.    Given it was 2.5 million Greatest hits sold,   they have to aim for less this time.

The old music still sells well. They need to make money off od gnr somehow. Motley crue has alot of greatest hit's as well. I'll buy anything they release, just because i am that kind of fan. I say it's a good idea. Who know's maybe there will even be a new song on there. ! song is worth a new greatest hit's coming out.

I don't really care one way or the other about the greatest hits albums since I have all the cds already. But greatest hits albums do manage to bring in fans who would not bother buying all the cds, so they are good in that they expose the band to new people.

But I argee that it would be awesome if geffen released a dvd of a concert from the old days. Imagine a remastered dvd of the concert at the Roxy

Either way (GH2 or no GH2),  if an announcement for CD doesn't come out in early 2006, I think I'll lose my enthusiasm entirely.

   Listen, I'm no genius, but I'm a pretty smart guy.  Smart enough to realize that with the probably 3 million units of GH sold worldwide (maybe more) I think the record company has made all the $money$ back they have given Axl over the years.  I think we've heard enough about the poor old record companies getting the bad end of the deal.  We, the true fans are the ones getting the shaft...no, this doesn't mean I'm becoming an Axl-basher...there just has to be a good reason for this ridiculous delay. 
   Please don't cry for the record companies.  They're making money hand over fist as a result of Axl and the old gunners.  If everyone could get on the same page, the new Guns, Axl, and the record companies would be set.  Even the old gunners would benefit from an up-tick in sales of old stuff because of the new advertising for new stuff.  What a mess.
