You have a good point. When was the 1st GH annouced officially? Just by curiousity. Does anyone have the press release?
Febuary 19th, 2004.
The PR link was posted here on the site......not sure if it's still active or not.
Edit: It is:
http://www.heretodaygonetohell.com/articles/showarticle.php?articleid=95
ok thanks. So they annouced the album the 19th february for a release 1 month later?
That's dawn short.
We are in october, the GH 2 could definitely be released. There is still plenty of time for geffen to make an annoucement.
Yup, could be. ?My only point is that. short of actually GETTING a PR from Geffen, there hasn't been, no matter what these sites are claiming, an "official announcement" about GH2. And given we have NADA from a reputable music seller for a date...well....let's just say I would take the information with a huge SHAKER of salt.
Also, for the sake of clarity, the GH rumors had been going on for about 6 months when we got the PR. ?There was actually a Nov/Dec '03(can't remember) release date set for GH with the music retailers (but no PR). ?Then it was pulled, only to be resurrected in Feb of '04. ?There's a whole thread on the subject buried somewhere on the board, I think (unless it was lost to "The upgrade monster").

I know what you mean. I think it will be worth, but I just don't know for how long we gonna wait. I'm 100% positive about the quality, and I know they're trying to release CD, but all those things (lawsuit, GH2...) are a huge let down.

I doubt that very highly. The record company would move heaven and hell to put that record on shelves if they actually had it sitting in front of them completed and ready for release. The fact we are looking at a GH2 means they aren't trying hard enough to finish CD so it can be released.

No, I'm too pessimistic to think that.
I don't really know what Geffen thinks of GN'R, but I guess they want to make money like any other (record) company. If they think re-packaging previously released material is the way to do that, they probably will go for it.
I my opinion, "Chinese Democracy" doesn't need to be covered up at all. Just issue a statement that it's scheduled for release when it's time.

Don't think so. If they were just lazy, do you really think the band would still hope for a release anytime soon, like Richard does?
I don't really know what's going on, but you can't put a label stupid move like this as result of GN'R camp not trying hard enough. IMO, is better trust in this Richard little rant:
"I will tell you that I understand the frustration of the fans. I hate it that people feel like we are stringing them along. I assure you that we have no intentions of doing this. We honestly want to move forward with this as much as you guys want us too. We aren't lying to anyone. We would have nothing to gain from that. I understand that Guns has probably alienated most of the old Gn'R fans out there in some way, and at this point, the only way we could possibly redeem ourselves, is to release a great fucking record and start touring again. That's all we want to do."

Do you honestly believe the label would be releasing a second GH if they had CD in their hands? Absolutely not, as CD would make way more money for them than a GH2.
And what is Richard supposed to say? Axl is obviously the reason the album isn't done, everyone's parts have been done for years except him. The band isn't lazy, Axl is. Do you think Richard is going to come out and say that? He collects a monthly pay check and doesn't have to do anything except outside projects he enjoys doing. There is nothing more he can do with Guns until Axl pulls it together. He can't sing the songs.
I am guessing the "frustration" he shares with us is Axl's inability to complete a mere 14-15 songs so that a new album can be released. Nobody in the band but Axl can sings the songs, so they (just like all of us) are at his mercy until he decides to start singing.
