Sorry, too lazy to read all 161 posts. Sorry if i am repeating what some else has written, but:
Maybe Greatest Hits 2 is simply a cover up for CD being released (i think i read some time ago on mygnr that record companies do do this sometimes). What makes no sense is, Amazon sometimes list items months in advance, and there is no mention og a greatest hits 2  Undecided

Does the walker choose the path?

« Reply #162 on: October 27, 2005, 10:09:20 AM »

Does anyone think there really could be anything to this? I mean it surely cant be another greatest hits. That does not make any sense at all! Could this really be that somethingis going to happen at last? I mean maybe a single or an announcement of the release date or maybe just maybe the album but I doubt that it seems to close for it to be the actual holy grail itself! As I and many other people have been saying for a while theres seems to have been way to many rumours recently for there to be nothing going on!

I can't imagine a second hits collection being released so soon, but here's the track list that's floating around:

1. It's So Easy
2. Mr. Brownstone
3. Nightrain
4. Used To Love Her
5. 14 Years
6. Don't Cry (Alt. Lyrics)
7. Dead Horse
8. The Garden
9. Estranged
10. Garden Of Eden
11. Welcome To The Jungle (Live)
12. It's Alright (Live)
13. Oh My God

Floating Around?!!! Huh where? Why would they have the intro to the '92 live version of NR (and another cover BTW) but not NR itself. ANd I would imagine an edited Version of ISE, what's the point in that?

Sniff. Sniff. can you smell that?

Thats exactly what I was gonna ask! I cant imagine for a single moment (a) that they would ever release a greatest hits 2 yet (b) Its alright although a fairly good cover on the UYI tour and on Live era 87-93 would surely never make a greatest hits by the band! So where is this floating around? in someones mind?

They won't mix new GN'R with old GN'R. I'm doubtful they'd release a GH2 but if they do, it will just be similar in crappyness to GH1.

That Dutch radio station were talking about a December release date too.

I guess they didn't make it up themselves. The record company probably had plans to release something in December.....

I agree with you Will. If there is anything to this latest rumour at all then, I just cant help but think that it has to be a cover up for something much bigger and more important than a worthless 2nd greatest hits! Mike

D0badog although i dont think there would be a second greatest hits and I think it would be a bad idea. If there was gonna be how on earth could you not include: Estranged or Dead Horse? Especially Estranged, one of the bands finest moments!

Besides OMG was hardly a hit. It was a Huge flop if anything.

For those interested. The track list mentioned above is about 57-58 minutes long. if you add NR (live) in it's about 70 minutes long.

This is gonna suck, I can see it now puke

Yeh but I think its irrelavent. I cant imagine for one single moment that the band would release another greatest hits. Its now about the bands new material! This has got be a cover up of some sorts for a much bigger release!

Nothing really surprises me with GNR anymore. I thought there was no way in hell they were gonna release a GH album with no new songs, no promotion, no videos nothing...all before Chinese Democracy, and they did. Now, if GH-Volume 2 hits the shelves Dec 6th, it will not only mean Chinese Democracy is no way near to be done, means it may never be released.

Why would then label release another GH album? If label had plans to release Chinese Democracy, it wouldn't make any sense to release another GH album. Think about it; this may be another attempt by Geffen (or Interscope) to make some of 13 million invested in recording the infamous Chinese Democracy. How many copies could this GH Volume sell? I don't think it'd come close to Platinium but hey, big profit if the CD is not promoted at all.

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think this could be Chinese Democracy in disguise either. We, GNR fans are a hopeful lot and sometimes we are too blind to see the obvious. If this is true, we would have GH (II) then in two months, not Chinese Democracy.
