My girlfriend compared Eminem to Axl Rose

I was watching the Chicago show from '93 (I think that is what it was) where Axl went on a few rants about his family life and how kids are screwed up thanks to their parents.? My g/f said that sounds a lot like Eminem.? I can kinda agree with that.? Eminem always seems angry (or at least used to), obviously upset about his childhood, but at the same time is very witty and creative.? They are both controversial (homophobic and misogynist in many people's eyes), and not shy to express their thoughts on a record or in the press.? What do you guys think?

I kinda see Eminem as a modern day late 80s/early 90s Axl... always surrounded by a world of controversy. ?Of course, I'm not a fan of Eminem's music, but the fact that he acts like a dick, rants about other celebrities, and can't seem to keep himself out of trouble, reminds me of Axl. ?Not only that, but Eminem is as popular with the kids these days as Axl was in his day. ?Everyone loved to hate Axl, the same as Eminem. ?I think that Eminem tries to emulate Axl a little bit. ?Remember the D12 VMAs performance with the guys dressed up as members from 80s bands? ?Didn't Eminem dress as Axl?
