I think it'll end up similar to the "Matt Sorum runs into Axl in NYC story". They met, talked, no hard feelings.

Duff wouldn't blank Axl, Duff isn't like that. I thought Axl might blank Duff but if he'll talk to Matt then he'll deffiantly talk to Duff.

I wonder if Duff will play with AIC in Nijmegen too. It wasn't in the press release. It would be interesting, although I highly doubt 'reunion' would be the word.

Well it least this kills off all the Duff rejoins GnR rumours because Alice In Chains are playing the Irish Download the same night as GnR play Download in England. So I don't know how the OP can say this increases the amount of rumours about a reunion!

Having said that, they are playing a lot of festivals around Europe so maybe Duff and Axl will do a song together at one point, but Duff certainly wouldn't be joing AIC if he had agreed to tour with Axl, so that's one rumour killed off. It looks like this will delay the VR album further which is unfortunate. I wonder what Matt and Slash will do in the meantime.

As much as I'd love to see Duff in the band, Slash and Axl would be amazing by itself. Of course, if I had my choice, it would be Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy and Steven. But you can't have everything, right? I absolutely KNOW Slash and Axl will perform GNR tunes together again one day - the question is when? I say, sooner than you think (but probably not this year).

I think it would be great if Duff and Axl had a long talk. ?It would even be cool if they played together for a song but I like having Tommy in the band. ?I think he is much more musically talented.

duff is only playing "selected shows" with AIC and the only one mentioned is donnington. so he might not be in ireland, he might not be at Nijmegen you won't know untill he says so or he shows up.
